Anyone ride a Specialized Diverge? I recovering from my third head injury (diving board, bike and car) and am now suffering from head, neck and upper back pain. After about an hour I need an extended break to recover. I've been thinking of getting a Diverge to help dissipate road noise. Any thoughts?

I have a Diverge, but not with the features you're asking about (it's aluminum and without the Future Shock). The geometry of the bike will certainly help with you dealing with your pain better I believe. As for the Future Shock, I have tried it and it definitely does help, but I can't speak to how much. The Roubaix offers the same setup if you're interested

Nice Sequoia! How does it ride? I have an aluminum Diverge, but I really haven't gone all-in on the gravel thing yet

It’s really sweet. Steel, with a beefy tapered headtube and thru axles. I have another spec, a Cannondale, and a Bianchi and this is the only one I’ve been riding lately. I’m excited to put my Zipps with road tires on it. Full rack and fender mounts, it checked all the boxes for me. Not disappointed in any way.

First winter ride in years!

Oooo electric Force.
How is it?
I too have a TCR, although it is coming up on 10 years old now, but it is still solid and I like it.
I have wanted to upgrade, but at this point I'm thinking about just an all new group set.
Currently it has a mix of mechanical 10 speed Red and Force.
Here is is with some cheap Chinese carbon clinchers.

ETap axis is pretty amazing. The electronic shifting is cool but the really cool thing is pairing it to an Eagle 10-50 cassette on a road bike 😀

I have only ridden a bike with Ultegra DI2, and that was back when it first came out.
As for the cassette? I live in Florida, totally flat, I don't need all those teeth! hah.

Well, I have always been a very loyal Shimano guy. Originally, I wanted this bike, which btw is a gravel bike, in a Shimano Ultegra Di2 build but Giant just didn't have my size at the time. So I ended up taking a chance with the SRAM build and I must say, it's pretty sweet! No issues with the shifting at all!

And nice TCR! Here's my TCR. Probably the best all around bike IMO.

Nice! Looks like our TCR's are roughly the same age.
Mine was originally sold as a frameset without the ISP.

Yep, 2011 TCR Advanced SL Rabobank. I'm more of a mountain biker and would do road to stay in shape. However, every since a car tried to run me into a ditch, I barely do road any more hence the gravel bike.

You don't need all those teeth until you need all those teeth.

Anyway, it’s not about what you need now or how hard you train, it’s all about how much you spend and how much bling is on the bike. That’s what makes a great rider. Money spent. And belonging to a prestigious cycling club. That's a must in order to be "good".

Joking aside...I get it. I used to live in the midwest and pretty much always rode an 11-25.

Good on ya, Hijak...ride that Paramount!

Did you say Paramount? As in Schwinn Paramount?

Cool beans, man. Big Paramount fan here...I have 3 Paramounts...an '11 Paramount Series 9 carbon (primary road race bike), an '11 Paramount Series 8 carbon (primary training/rain bike) and an '89 Waterford Paramount (pictured below) which I purchased new when I was in the military. The recent pic below shows the restoration (repaint/redecal) completed by Waterford Precision Cycles. It still has the original Dura-Ace 7400 components...works great lasts long time!

@Mad Dog , I'm such a bike geek I know the logo on your seat...it's a Selle San Marco, Rolls model. I had one of those on an old Schwinn Curcuit I had back in the early 80s. Also thought I'd share some snaps of my Paramount with you. Mine is an 89 as well, its even the same color! Purchased this as a frame new in 89 and built it up myself. Although my drive train is made up of Suntour Superbe Pro components everything else is Dura Ace. Suntour went out of business, I think in 96, and I picked up several replacement chainrings, cassetes and chains to tide me over, so far so good! I've also rebuilt the wheels a few times, tons of miles on this bike and still solid as a rock.

Notice the Campy housing...all campy housings and cables!

Built this set of wheels about six years ago (three cross on the rear and radially laced in the front) using DT double butted spokes and Mavic Open Pro rims (welded seams and machined side walls), they have held up well even on the crappy Chicago streets.

Have a few other bikes as well (last one on the right is my daughters)...

Use my Paramount for training mostly but on fast group rides I take out my Carbon Trek with Campagnolo Record componants...

What a huge coincidence that we both have the same year and color Paramount!👍 Yours looks excellent and its nice to see that Richard Schwinn still looks after the Paramounts that he had built in Waterford. At the handbuilt bike show in Indianapolis back in 08 I had a chance to meet him and talked about his restoration program for the Paramount. He mentioned that they had all of the old decal designs and paint colors, after seeing yours I'm considering this for mine!

Cheers

Dudes, I had the mountain bike version of that which I used to pedal my butt to school. I loved that bike..it looked like this...But I gave it away about 17 years ago and upgraded to a Homegrown Ltd. Much better bike.

I want to move there! Blue sky and not a motor vehicle in sight 👍

Checked my touring bike's computer today to see it needed a new battery (yes, it's battery week here folks) and it was still on daylight saving time from last year. So that means 😲 😲 😲

Is it worth booking tickets to get to the Tour de France this year? My friend whose house in Corrèze we stay at for the TdF asked today. We just don't know what to do.

And now for something different:

Children's sack-race at nearby Hippodrome de Pompadour.

That looks like a lot of fun.
But maybe a tad cold!
