Today was a great day for riding in the Chattahoochee National Forest and along the river; especially considering the storm churning up this way:

    Yikes!

At least you're not having to deal with the hurricane force winds down there ...:D

Just a suggestion, but you might move faster over the sand if you take off the flippers ..

Watched a French cyclist get off a plane from Singapore wearing his Lycra shorts picked up his bike from oversized luggage, cleared Customs and Quarantine. Put his bike together and was riding from Darwin to Perth.

Your a crazy lot some of you.

Doing two projects at the same time. A 1974 and a late 60ies Specialissima.

The late 60ies Specialissima frame with integrated headset (no - it is not a modern invention) will be left exactly as it is. No touch ups.

    Before:

    During:

After - in a month or so.

The 1974 Specialissima also just gets some TLC as is in a almost perfect original condition.

    During:

    Some small touch ups:

The condition of your bikes purchased with stickers and all prior to a clean and touch up amazes me @styggpyggeno1 let alone afterwards

As I lie here in bed from a tick borne infection from last weekend's trail riding, I would like to remind all to check for these little suckers when you get home from the great outdoors, and promptly shower and change clothes. I always check legs arms etc but this guy got me in a..ahem..sensitive area. Must have got into my shorts, which I foolishly left on the rest of the day. Had to use a pair of pliers to yank him out. Three days later my leg swells up and painful lymph nodes. Getting better now and thankfully appears to be nothing major but will keep an eye on it. They are filthy little disease carrying devils.

My brother in law's brother got Lyme Disease 10 years ago, undiagnosed til too late. The chronic pain and depression cost him his job and his wife.

    Word to the wise.

PS: if you pull a tick, save it in a plastic bag(like a small ziplock). If you come down with something, they will use the tick to help narrow down the potential affliction. Certain ticks carry specific diseases.

Got out for a bike ride today. Trails have finally drained from the last week and a half of rain and were perfect. Starting to get the fall colors down here in town now too.

Thanks for the tip, will definitely check it out. At first glance looks to be more for road bike as opposed to mountain bike?

    Ditto on that!

I use mine for both road and trail.

It has such an easy-to-read screen, EZ connectivity, and longer battery life...

... IMO, by far better than the more-expensive competition, Garmin.

This looks SO much like my backyard, Sope Creek/Cochran Shoals divisions of the Chattahoochee Natl Recreation Area...

    ... anywhere close?
