Getting a little wild and woolly here in Florida, Grapefruit trail in Melbourne. One of the wildest off road trails in the southeast US. Beautiful Oaks too. In fact the nearest road is called Cathedral Oak Drive.
Reveille was at zero-dark-thirty today for a small masters team road ride. Note: Mad Dog is the dude throwing "metal horns"...still grooving on the Metallica concert in Detroit on the 12th.
An interesting article here comparing body weight vs bike weight: http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/article/lose-weight-from-bike-or-body-which-is-faster-50206/
This summer I put together some bikes. Let us call it therapy. First was the 1989 Masi 3V (already shown here) Then I got to the 1989-90 Geliano 115S Today Shimano and Campagnolo has electric/elctronic gears. Mavic had it already in 1993. Works perfectly. Next was the 1991-2 Merckx Corsa Extra in Columbus MAX tubing. And today I finished the 1989 Colnago Master Piu. A good summer.
Happy days ahead, finally given the go ahead by my consultant to get back in the saddle providing I take things easy so the old steed is in the workshop for a bit of a going over having lain idle for almost two years Hoping the weekend will see the cranks spinning once more Ok! a bit of a sit up and beg but the old back gave in years ago,
A mountain bike with street tires would be great for you with a bad back. I did this 5yrs ago and man what a difference . Went from aching back with street bike to no pain with a full suspension mountain bike .
Just getting back to riding after I wrecked one month ago. Broke my collar bone in two places, and broke two ribs. Gave me extra time to buy a new bike though.
59 and 60 c/c. I am 6ft but with "longer legs". You might notice the stems are a little shorter as a consequence - 100-110 mm
Ha, ha, opposite from us Asians, i'm 5'9" and i'm on a 52cm with 100mm stem. Next question, can you do this?
Haha! I have never thought of it that way. I actually had to try - and - no. Close but no. My butt came to circa 9-10 cm from the ankles. I do however have much better control than the westerners in the vid. Done a lot of weightlifting squats earlier in my life - making me know how to shift my weight not to fall over backwards. The guys at work really wondered what I was up to just some moments ago...
Ooof, sorry to hear. But hey, you got a great-looking, new bike and probably some cool films to boot!
That's great news, sir! By the way it sounded prior to this, your cycling days may have been over...damn glad to hear you're back at it, sir!
My thanks to you, yes it looked as if my days in the saddle were over, so much so that I had advertised the bike for sale but thankfully no takers. In conversation with my consultant it turned out he is a pedal pusher and appreciated my desire to get back in the saddle so providing I stick to the flat for the first month and don't push it I have the go ahead . Now just have to wait a few more days on my mechanic and then let the fun begin
First day back in the saddle and taking things easy although I did enjoy a short sharp climb near the end which i'll probably pay for tomorrow Niddry Castle https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niddry_Castle sitting beside a large 'bing' which is a spoil heap from the shale oil industry http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.c...ng-the-world-s-first-shale-oil-boom-1-4130293 Ok! humble beginnings but thoroughly enjoyed myself
