When I saw the reply from "Standy" for a second I thought that "Sandy" was replying to this thread.😲
You know I would not put it past him. 😉

Got to admit we're getting closer, getting closer all the time - that might do for Jim but maybe not a "Beatles" man
Seriously not to far off the target, many thanks from our own resident deprived Beagle.

No bunnie rabbits were harmed in the taking of this photograph.

Dogs are the best people...

This one is a gem, and she has amazing eyes:

But she really hates it when it's cold out:

Cheers, Al

I reckon we would all like to give the impression of the macho male but at heart we all love our wee four legged pals 😀

A dog's love for his/her master is 100% genuine and undivided.

I had a dog at one time and no more, after that. Reason: During his last days, he looked at me straight into my eyes and I could not save his life. The vet recommended it be put to sleep, a few days, before that. I refused. That was the last time I ever want to get close to any dog or cat.

The picture of a cat I posted earlier on in this thread, belongs to one of our neighbors. Occasionally, it will come to pay us a visit.

Your poor darling really needs a heater. Like her, not too many of us love the cold.

Thank-you.

Thanks guys. Like Dablitzer and Alpha have said, we love our pets a lot. We have owned everything from mice, rats, gerbils, rabbits, and at one time a cockatoo (Goffins) and although very different pets, they all brought us joy.

I was a total basket case when our previous dog passed, and I will be again with this one. Our last dog was a Lhasa Apso, who we adopted at 1 year old as he was going to be put down by his owners, and the vet asked us if we would adopt him, and we did. We were able to give him another 15 years of life, and we had to put him down just after his 16th birthday. He was such a different dog to Raven, our Whippet pictured above. He was very stubborn, loved car rides (Raven hates being in the car) and we took him everywhere with us:

And he always knew when you were getting a snack...

Seamonster - sorry you feel that way about getting another pet. Although it's very difficult when you lose a friend, I would not give up what they give us while they are our companions.

We adopted Raven at 3 years old, after she had become a champion show dog. She lived in a kennel, and yes now we spoil her, but she worked hard those first few years of her life, so she deserves it. I know she won't be with us for as long as our other dog was, but it is still worth it to us.

Cheers, Al

I thought for a moment I had logged onto Reddit... 😵‍💫

Love how it doesn't matter where a forum is, people *will* post their cats/dogs!

Meet my sister's pooches Zoey and Rocky:

aka Twiggy and Haggis. Twiggy is obvious - she's NJ's only anorexic dog. Look at how thin she is! I think she needs valium because she's always nervous. Well, she was an abused dog that was rescued and now she's settlling in.

Some of you might guess why I call Rocky Haggis. For those of you that don't, here's a visual for you.

See what I mean? For every pound Twiggy lacks, Haggis makes up for it twofold. Twiggy is a great frisbee dog, BTW. I'll see about getting some video of her in action.

I signed the petition because I love dogs as much as I love science.

not happy that I was immediately solicited to sign another petition calling John Boehner a racist thug. I'm really burnt out from these annoying hair on fire radicals. go away.

my dog hates leftist bullies and will bite them at will. Lol
