I have obtained an Omega Chronograph with no serial#. A watchmaker I know opened it up and on the inside back of the case were the numbers 2451 which I think is a reference number. The watch has a caliber 321 movement with the serial number 13803451 which is possibly 1956 but am not sure. I am not a collector but feel this watch is too nice not to have repaired which will cost $500+. Is there anyone out there can can give comments, thank you.

 

It has issues (hands, crown, scratched dial eyc), but even spending money on a service will not put you out of pocket.

Hardly an accurate or reliable benchmark for direct comparison, but it gives you an idea.

Not sure if it is in the case, my watchmaker only screwed to back of for numbers.

 

Yes it is a ref 2451, these are also sometimes marked with the ref 174-3 for some reason and can also have engraved case backs. Well worth the expense of getting it serviced and sourcing a sub dial hand.
