Everyone needs a BB58 in their collection. It's the watch I take on vacations, in hot tubs, skiing, diving, 4 wheeling, yardwork, do anything everywhere watch. It's tough as nails and looks and feels amazing. You never have to worry about dings or scratches or any of that. Leave the nicer watches in the box. Even though I have the original I am considering the blue one, it looks absolutely stunning.

I would absolutely have both if I could. It's a very tough choice between them, but the blue is what I wanted and hoped for right from the start.

I knew they had something coming this summer and suspected a blue Sub & am contemplating on picking one up later thru the year. I really love the blue and scratches the itch if one likes the earlier blue 79090/79190 models that are twice the price.

I could not be happier. In the sun it's a vibrant blue, but in the shade / indirect light, it's almost identical (in shade) to my vintage Tudor Subs. This is exactly what I wanted when the original one came out (which I've worn the ever loving sh** out of as well), as I loved the original Black Bay blue but couldn't handle the dimensions and would have preferred a blue dial like the vintage Subs.

That is by far the best pic I've seen of the new blue
I sooooooo want to get there on this one but just can't quite do it...

It just doesn't evoke whatever this one does and I love my original bb58

I'll post some additional ones when I get a chance to properly photograph the watch. The blue tone is really well chosen and I actually like that the lume is stark white. If this had been the same shade of blue as the Pelagos, I probably wouldn't have purchased.

If you are looking for a tudor sub, this may not be it. I wouldn’t have minded the off white lume of the 58 if I’m honest as the white is quite stark. That said, I’ve ordered one and will be a pretty good pair with the original 58 I think.

Been so bored with watch releases these days...that is in my price range!....but this really ticks the boxes for me. I agree with previous poster though, some very lightly patina on the lume would have been the icing on the cake.

I prefer the look of the original black 58, truth to be said I am keeping the fingers crossed for a burgundy+gilt 58 😀

I think the faux patina would drive more people away than it would attract. I think they wanted to make something that resembled an old Tudor sub without being an exact replica.

A lot of on the fence buyers are looking for square markers which would be a nod to the original

Well, I have to say I’m presently surprised in the metal. The same, but also very different to the original. Far more modern in its appearance. Love it.

Possibly, the availability would be lower because sales would be higher. So many sold by the looks of it, but wonder how many buyers were lost for this reason. I don’t think less of the current or
“soon to be” owners of the navy BB58 would have passed if square markers were present but the inverse feels true of buyers that were really eager to see that. But Tudor marketing dept knows what they’re doing without my opinion

The square markers are already on the pelagos. I guess they wouldn’t have wanted to stray into that territory even if it would have made the 58 more true to the sub

I forgot that it's on pelagos so I see the redundancy issue

One of the reasons I like the 58 is the size, they make a 39mm pelagos ill be first in line.
