Is the BB GMT still hard to come by?
I know it was originally but it has been a while now...

I just looked at chrono24 and there are 5 pages of them. Outside of that, I don't know much about their availability. The massive slab sides and giant crown was never appealing enough for me to try to get one.

If the pictures on this thread are a true reflection of the colour then it will be a miss for me, I find the colour cold and sterile.

However, if the comments about long waiting lists for the new Blue version are true then that might mean that the original version will be more readily available.

It’s in some markets windows. Less so others. Nice watch but a big bugger compared to the 58

Will be interesting to see. As an owner of the first one, I much prefer the warmth of that one. It’s always this way with the initial phase. Wonder how many of the ‘first club’ find they don’t like it much in the real world. We’ll see.

I suspect the original will remain more popular in the long run and wouldn’t be surprised if they slow production of this to supply the blue....

Well, the blue BB58 might be cool

Well hard to come by is relative: Is it hard to come by at retailers? Depends on the area probably. Not hard to come by at a markup.

I never liked the size of the Black Bay (had always wanted a Blue until trying it on, maybe over time the 58b will change that) but the very first time I found a GMT at an AD (while on a business trip to Amsterdam) I impulse-bought it, it was so awesome. It's big to be sure, but in a grand-touring car way - big, sporty, and smooth. Worth trying on if you haven't yet

Pre-Covid (February) I took a trip to Paris and Madrid and it was in every AD’s window.

Like it a lot more in that shot than any other I’ve seen...

Calling my AD now... might have to let my original 58 go to make room for this one.

I intend to keep the pair. One of the best fitting watches I’ve ever worn.

just need to get on a list now!

I want to love this thing but it just isn't doing it for me...

The blue just seems flat. I'll stick w my original bb58

Give it 20+ years of harsh sunlight and diving and the aluminium bezel and blue dial will have faded nicely whereas the ceramic Planet Oceans will still look like cheap toys.

There are some wrist shots from those who have picked up their watches today over on TRF. Have to say, looks ok to me. Not a complete homerun by any means, but nice enough.

Im keeping my powder dry on this too.

however, I think it will be huge hit. Its pretty much what people have been crying out for. It could become the SMP 300 of the next decade. Im using that comparison as its one of the watches I spotted most over the last few years (in the wild). While the Tudor is expensive, comparatively speaking its an accessible price point. I think a lot of people walking into an AD with intent to buy will walk out on the wait list. Very possible it steals some Seamaster customers.

As an owner of the original BB58 - I love the size. As has been discussed many times it wears identically to a 5 digit sports Rolex

Looks like I was expecting although the rivet bracelet is a bit incongruous. I prefer the original black dial bb58

This is nice. I'm in the seemingly less vocal group that finds the proportions of the ETA based Black Bays to be the best proportions of any of any watches in the Black Bay line, including the BBGMT, which I own and wear the most frequently of any watch in my collection.

If I am buying a contemporary dive or dive inspired watch, I like a contemporary size of > 40mm.
