Hmm, I ^know^ somebody said this forum wasn’t as judgmental or contain the so called unbecoming tripe of the Rolex forum.... You guys are close to making me want to go back to a Rolex venture...
This forum isn't generally judgmental and the interest and well wishes of members when the OP created this thread was genuine, as is plain to see in early posts. Having said this, members understandably get frustrated and start to form "judgments" when the OP has drip fed information since Monday while engaging in numerous private conversations in parallel over the last few days.

This forum works best when a two-way street and, just like it is in relationships, when one party gets strung along interminably, eventually the relationship breaks up. If this place is too low class, Rolex awaits you.

I know Artx from past dealings with One Rolex and several other high and low end articles. He’s always been true blue. You guys are close to making me want to go back to a Rolex venture. Can’t one be happy about a special find? Everyone deserve to know everything about every deal or situation. Kinda low class... but then I’m a newbie here..

Exactly. I am inclined to treat your posts with a similar cynical wariness. I think the OP has had enough free advertising now personally.

I'm actually familiar with the whole story, but respect the OP's privacy. He literally got it as part of an unrelated flea market purchase. He didn't know a lot about vintage watches, though he'd purchased a vintage Rolex previously at a pawn shop, and started to do a little research online. I think it's sad that when he showed up in a few places, people scrambled all over themselves to try to rip him off when he didn't realize the value. He was advised of the value and got a very fair deal in the end.

How is thst cynical? @alleged just said he sold it.

We will never see @Artx, @cdtx and probably @alleged again. I mean I am not saying they are the same person or this whole thread is a long con backdoor sales post... wait... am I?

I can assure you I'm not him. He's a regular guy who didn't realize the attention his find was going to get. Once he realized what he had, he had to take down his original social media post because he was bombarded with inquiries. You don't have to pimp a 2998 to sell it! He's very happy with his outcome from a private dealer, who traded watches and cash valued over $50k.

The point is that this forum has a strict >200 post policy on using it to sell a watch and he made a complete mockery of it. He dangled it here in the knowledge that people would PM him, without adding anything of interest to the forum.
