·You might find it hard to imagine, but these types of events do happen and have been posted here on OF on many occasions...that might be a news flash for you. I can recall @ngdal with a gorgeous find which was posted here not too long ago, as well as many others on different forums. 2 weeks ago, a fellow from Sweden landed the mother loaded purchasing 12 Rolex Submariner inserts, some of which were quite rare, for sub $1K and were worth well north of $150K. What makes theses interesting is the back story as much as the watch/part itself. For some reason, you're withholding the story which is making it hard for me to even believe what you've written.

·I'm not even sure the story matters at this point. He went to a pawn shop, seller was wearing this watch, said he got it for pennies, didn't know its value. You probably made him an offer, which he accepted. Probably wasn't much since he didn't know what it was. It's a nice watch, enjoy it.
Not sure why you wouldn't tell your wife. You have many thousands in watches in that case behind you, and I can only assume you didn't pay market value for the 2998.

·The best I've done is finding a Seamaster Cosmic for $30 that "might be broken but may just need a battery mate" so I always get excited about these stories of people finding pristine pre-moons or that thrift store LeCoultre Deep Sea Alarm from a couple of years ago but, having visited this thread several times now, I'm a bit bored and questioning the point of the thread.

·Hmm, I ^know^ somebody said this forum wasn’t as judgmental or contain the so called unbecoming tripe of the Rolex forum... I know Artx from past dealings with One Rolex and several other high and low end articles. He’s always been true blue. You guys are close to making me want to go back to a Rolex venture. Can’t one be happy about a special find? Everyone deserve to know everything about every deal or situation. Kinda low class... but then I’m a newbie here..

We are all genuinely intrigued with the narrative that really is not finished even after all the interest shown.
People like to believe in dreams even if they only happen to other people, there is always hope.
