Dr.Sascha
ยทHad a really terrible experience with this chap: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/pradstone
He seemed polite at first, and I bought a nice but obscure 70s diver, for $200, which arrived on a somewhat torn vintage leather strap. Almost immediately, problems manifested--the crown was loose and wouldn't screw down, nor would the watch wind correctly. I requested a return, and Pradstone asked that I do so outside of the Ebay system. I was reluctant, but he seemed polite enough. I would later regret that decision. As a courtesy, I removed the torn, old strap and put a new leather one on it.
Upon receipt of the watch, Pradstone immediately raised a hue and cry, claiming that the torn strap was worth $150 (almost the price of the watch), and demanding that I return it as well or he would not process the refund. When I balked, he accused me of plotting to steal the strap from him. These outrageous accusations only escalated. When I asked Ebay to step in, he flat out lied, saying not only had I stolen the strap, but that I had deliberately sabotaged the watch in order to engineer a return (presumably to camouflage my theft of this precious strap). This was interspersed with truly unhinged messages to me, mostly in all caps, calling me a liar, a thief, a cheat, etc.
Ebay resolved the case in my favour, but it was quite an unpleasant experience, and not one I would care to repeat!
