Hi everyone,

Hope you can advise...
I'm going to get my 145.012-67 Speedy serviced.
The crown winds, but is quite stiff. I've been a bit reluctant in case of parts needing replacing, but I'm thinking to get it at least cleaned and oiled - what do you think?

What sort of prices might I be looking to pay in the UK from an independent watch place? Doubt its a job for Omega based on the potential for them to replace and upgrade parts...

Also, on the dial there is quite a bit of patina. I love it but could it be cleaned up just a little? Or is it often a re-paint or re-lume or nothing at all?

Any thoughts are appreciated...

Best,
Phil

Well.... its funny how time pans out... since writing this in 2018 I did get the service done by Simon, but as the years went on the comments ive re-read here have proved true - parts for a 321 are hard to get and not everyone doing services on these have access to them...

So its 2022 and I now live in Singapore, the Speedy has had issues with moisture getting in (its humid here + aircon environments), pushers sticking, corrosion in the caseback, hour hand sub dial creep (!) etc etc, so I thought enough was enough and got it reconditioned with Adam at Lewis watch Co in Perth - who has got complete access to Omega parts.

He has done an awesome job - pics below. Also did go with a re-paint on the hands and indices which my stance has changed over the years too!

The ONLY thing we can't get as it is discontinued is a main plate for a 321 - scarce and don't imagine cheap either... if anyone on here has any pointers that would be amazing!!
I know he will have his places to search but I thought I'd put a shout out here too!

Cheers 馃榾

Looks good! Do you know if the dial was "washed" before the re-lume on the indices? Also, were all of the little scratches in the original photo on the crystal or dial?

Cheers. i would assume yes, because dials can get washed during servicing - but haven't asked so don't quote me here haha!
All the scratches were on the crystal, fortunately...

The dial was not 'washed' during the service. That is something I would never do, the printing is far too fragile.

Thank you Phil 馃榾 that 321 did need an astonishing amount of parts for a watch that was serviced only four years prior... lots of issues and bodges inside but satisfying to get as right as possible without the new mainplate available. Anyone quoting a standard one size fits all price for a 321 service is going to be cutting corners somewhere.

If you are ok with it, I'd be happy to explain here some of the work needed?
