we drove those in military in Holland and Germany back in 80s....Chrysler K Cars....VW vans and 6packs...LOL Mercedes semi trucks and buses.
Vans and 6packs haven't changed. People can't figure out what it is. Europeans are surprised to think anyone would still drive one. I could probably trade it for a 2998 speedmaster.
Also picked up a GX470. Needed something reliable for camping. Like your taste in vehicles.
Cool to see you've exercised it properly! I remember thinking it felt very agricultural and didn't quite belong on pavement.
Something like that. The TRD has the silver bits on the bumper wings and side mirrors. Had those painted too. Wasn’t trying to make a TRD clone, just didn’t like the white roof against the black.

Yeah I figured, just teasing. I like the white roof on the blue (who doesn't) but think a black roof would have worked better with many of the other colors
These things honestly have me a bit excited. I've been following the comeback tour hype for some time, but only because of my general interest in all things automotive. I never thought for a second that it would be a vehicle I consider buying as my wife already has a pretty big SUV for the family.
But now, I'm trying to think about if it could actually be a replacement for my GTI!
I have been planning to keep my '15 GTI (MK7) for a couple more years and see what the next generation MK8 (due in the US in the next year or so) has to offer.
I have also been wanting a truck for a while now. And I've had my eyes on the Raptor. Since we moved out of out townhouse last year and into an actual house, I found that I have been borrowing friends trucks almost monthly. Will that continue though as we get the house all in order? I don't know....
But the Bronco kind of changes things...
Either way I feel like I'd have a hard time ditching the GTI. It is fun as hell, super practical and great on fuel. Not sure I could give that trifecta up.
I'm sure the Bronco and Raptor would be "fun" to drive in a different way. But I just don't know.
I'm not sold on the looks of the MK8's so I guess I will give it a couple more years and see.
That way, the next gen Raptor should be out as well, and hopefully the Bronco hype will have died down by then.
But damn I would love to have a 2 door 7 speed manual Bronco. Maybe I just keep the GTI too...but I'm already very out of garage space lol.
Looks like the wife will have to get banished to the driveway haha.
@pdxleaf@RonH@vbrad26 Very cool to see more GX/LX owners here, we have both in the household and the 100-series LX is my daily.
Here she is with my bud's Land Cruiser on the day he picked it up earlier this spring, and the second pic shows the LX with my other pride and joy, a '62 220se coupe. As you can tell, I like things that have been engineered to last. Lexus (Toyota), Mercedes-Benz, and Omega go hand in hand.
