Went to Milano and the Alfa museum together with my wife and some friends last autumn. Recommended. All of it.

Did some training at the Galleria (you who know me know for what).

With a growing tendency here to be confronted by cars that are unattractive and/or boring, I can't help but wonder what sort of 'real' porn some posters have been studying! But this one is lascivious to say the least.

Last time I checked the definition of pornography is subjective to individual tastes ….. if you can take the 'Thrust' of my point on the matter :0)

As a judge once said, " I cannot define pornography, but I know it when I see it!"

Got a message from the reconditioning guy earlier today. He was done with my car. This is the picture he sent:

Not bad for a 48 year old paint job.

Drove it home... I live by a rural dirt road and never meet anyone on it. Today I of course met three cars - making dust clouds. Still looks good in the evening sun though.

The upcoming weekend will be spent on cleaning the interior and in the beginning of June a new cabriolet will be fitted.

Things look bright for this summer. I hope the weather will too.

Wow, looks incredible! Original Mercedes paint is pretty incredible. Finally got my car set up the way it was intended by Mercedes, sans the U.S. bumpers and headlights.

That is nice (and good work)!

I have often thought of the designer and what must have gone thru his mind when seeing what happened to his original work after the US spec parts were added... It must have hurt. I believe the cars going to the US the first couple of years at least had the original bumpers?

I am actually considering taking mine a step further... When looking at the original design studies for the R107 - from the mid to late 60ies - there are no fog lights.

I have always believed the fog lights being an afterthought. Tzee German guys sagt zu themselves - Wir haben tze fog lichts vergessen... Lets put tzem there und pretend it was planned.

Did some quick and dirty mods in paint.

Original fog lights - like two extra and protruding front teeth.

Without - as in the early design studies.

Or if they had been incorporated properly from the beginning - integrated in the front grille.

Without being, by me, the prefered, integrated second and original... well - it is orginal but clearly an afterthought.

The more I think of it - the better the idea, and concidering the original design studies - it is not completely wrong.

To our annual Spring Italian automotive indulgence at Brooklands yesterday in my eldest's 916 GTV 3.2. Plenty of visual stimulation on site - a small selection below:

Not porn, I know, but really satisfying. 48 years of dirt removed from the interior (1971 MB 350 SL). Took all day.

Drivers seat before (apart from the small test bit)

After (but before applying UV shield - the non glossy kind)

What did you use to clean the upholstery, aside from elbow grease?
