A rare sighting of a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec II Nür, but no not in Midnight Purple (because this one's actually a wrap!):

If i recall correctly it's a 275lm 😉
The 250LM has a 3.3 litre engine so logically should have been a 275LM as some people refer to it. Ferrari insisted it be called 250LM for homologation reasons as a continuation of the 250GTO. Ferrari themselves never referred to this car as a 275LM.

I forgot about that, i got fooled by the sign next to the car which stated it was a 275.

My main reason is that I can't get into my race suit any longer. 😗

Oh, and that I don't own a 250/275LM. If I had that sort of money a 250SWB would come first.

Photo stolen from Talacrest who currently have one for sale, this is one they sold earlier

I do think that anyone with an OMP race suit should be able to double-declutch to synchronise the engine & drivetrain revs and avoid the nasty crunch. Perhaps even heel-and-toe to do it while braking too. 😎

I have driven a real crash box on a 1904 car: now that was a pig to change gear on with the hand throttle to try to match revs. Steered beautifully though. The 250LM would have dog engagement, not moving the actual gears.

The 1904? No it was a single cylinder "Light Car". An economy model. The four cylinder Mercedes, Mors, FIAT race cars on the Brighton Run used to come by us making a noise leaving no doubt in anyone's mind that here was a race car and although well over 100 years old it did not like to be slowed down to modern traffic speeds. They had no better brakes than us of course, just 3-4 times higher top speed. Never driven one of those, but if anyone here has one I'd sure like to 🙄

Race car gearboxes -- I have had two pure race cars with Hewland Mk 6 one with Mk 8 and one with FT200, all non-synchro. And a few that were originally road cars still with nominal synchromesh. Even then the gear-change that kept the car in balance best was to heel-and-toe. So I do that on the road too if the pedal positions allow.

Doing that is an official driving test fail of course, so although I already knew how to do it I managed to refrain on my actual test. Did get the examiner deposited in the passenger-side foot-well, but he had no grounds to fail me on that 😉 😉 😉
