I too admire the craftsmanship and the interior shots comply with the spirit of this thread's title - whilst an awful lot of what is posted here does not - but what's been created is something so pristine I just would not be able to bring myself to step in and drive it for fear of spoiling it. (I suspect that many porno model are like this - untouchable in reality!)

However, an SL always looks sexy, even when not dressed up in her best:
Absolutely!
Or like this, in its purest form...

"The Mercury Outboard 300SL!"

Somehow that's just not right... like "fresh frozen" or "jumbo shrimp"

Or putting a touring fairing, top box and saddle bags on a 70s Ducati 900SS.

Or a snowsuit on Sofia Loren

I though I’d join in with some shots. The level of craftsmanship, quality and details on a six star restoration is mind boggling...
Better than new.

Ugh I wish I could like more than once.
If I ever came into a bunch of money an F40 is the first car on the list hands-down.

Gah that interior is great.
I'd take that over any modern Benz interior any day of the week.

I was staying in Steamboat Springs, Colorado a couple weeks ago when 140 race cars from the years up to 1960 arrived at the hotel I was staying at. Turns out the Colorado Grand 1000 Rally drivers were staying the night there too. There were roughy $35 to $40 million dollars worth of cars in the hotel parking garage that night.

Here are a few pictures from my stroll through the garage starting with a Mercedes 300SL Gullwing

Here are a few more cars. I have an affinity towards Mercedes and Jaguars of this period which was over represented in the images of the previous post.

So here is a Bugatti with bugs squished on the front from the day’s race leg:

And a Bocar (made in CO between 1957-61):

And there were Astons, Ferraris, Bristols and so much more!

Ok, and one more Mercedes, this convertible sibling of the Gullwing. There were 5 of these convertible 300SL models in the group.

@KAP who drives a Bug Atlantique on the street???? I mean its still a replica... but those are still rare... I can't even figure out who built it as it appears to be the only one on the planet with a top mounted windshield wiper.

All these 140 cars are driving 1000 miles over 4 days through the Rocky Mountains during peak fall colors. The Colorado Grand 1000 is an annual September event and the new route each year is handed out on the day the drivers meet to begin.

Here’s a web link to the event site:

I agree, Bugatti is impressive. Heck they all are!
