@KAP who drives a Bug Atlantique on the street???? I mean its still a replica... but those are still rare... I can't even figure out who built it as it appears to be the only one on the planet with a top mounted windshield wiper.

All these 140 cars are driving 1000 miles over 4 days through the Rocky Mountains during peak fall colors. The Colorado Grand 1000 is an annual September event and the new route each year is handed out on the day the drivers meet to begin.

Here’s a web link to the event site:

I agree, Bugatti is impressive. Heck they all are!

Kind of reminds me of seeing a McLaren F1, an F40 and a F50 with New York plates parked side by side covered in bugs and road grime in the grass/dirt parking lot at the Gooding Pebble Beach auction a few years back.

That must have been one hell of a road-trip!

It would be nice to attend an event like Gooding Pebble Beach or other similar events. Not very convenient though given these shows and auctions are a long way from my home in Alaska.

I like your jaguar OF ID.

I promise, these will be the last photos of this I post, but it’s of a Jaguar since I see you appreciate these.

It is. They just finished the restoration on both cars and have a third one coming. The owner was a really relaxed guy. Had a quick chat with him.
The older car with the double headlights is not an original though. It‘s a recreation, based on a DS chassis. According to the owner Chevron only build 8 cars of that particular body style. The prices for original DS Cabriolets are deep in the 6 figures and the early ones are more or less unobtainable now. He wouldn’t comment on the exact asking price for his recreation but he assured me that it‘s within the 6 figure range as well.

Prices for both factory DS and Chapron DS cabriolets have skyrocketed over the last 10 years. I´d agree with the asking prices for a resto-mod such as this one as well, easily within the 6 figure range. I recall when you could buy a nice DS 23 Pallas for less than 8.000 €. Now you won´t find a decent unit below 30.000 €.

A good friend of mine owns the 1972 DS 23 Pallas below. Every time we´ve taken it for a ride I am amazed by the level of comfort of the Hydropneumatic suspensions and the smoothness of the engine. What a car!

There is a reason Rolls Royce used it for years as thier suspension.

Looks great - that's a fabulous blue. The pugnacious style is a very clever echo of the original and it's made for a very characterful car. Envy!

Without doubt the best car I've driven, so agile but plenty of grunt and very well thought out, the double wishbone setup works superbly
