Pagani Zonda R. I had to wipe off the drool.

Nice to see a post which respects the title of this thread - so many recently just of any old sort of vehicle - even a motor home - which amount as much to 'pornography' as would a picture of me old grannie on the occasion of her 101st birthday!

I was at Daytona. Was it just me, or did you also think those Ecoboosts sounded ugly, despite the win?

I was surprised by the sound of the RSRs. Unreal how loud they were on the downshift. Of cousre the Protoypes sounded like music to my ears.
Yes some of the notes were not as fulfilling. I LOVED being in the Grand Stands and could close my eyes and know when the Corvettes growled by. They were only ones that vibrated the floorboards. the AMG GT came close but...View attachment 513980 View attachment 513981

Few Goodwood Revival photos as I'm doing some sorting out:

2012: Our XK120 (now sold, sadly) with a 4.5 litre Invicta and some other nice old things.

2012: Jaguar Mk IV😀

2009: First two rows of the RAC TT grid. Two Ferrari 250GTOs, a 330LM, Jaguar E-Type (lightweight) and Cobra. Won by Bobby Rahal and Adrian Newey (as in F1 team "Red Bull") in his rather quick lightweight E...

Cheers, Chris

Yes, those corvettes sounded killer too. But that was expected. I was surprised by the new mid engine 911s.

I had infield passes, but I actually enjoyed the grand stand more.

I went to the Lime Rock races in '05 and '06 (or maybe it was '04-05). Saw the last year of the GT1-class C5-R and the first year of the GT1 C6-R. Even at idle standing anywhere near them would literally rattle your bones, but the best part was sitting in the infield inside Turn 1 and hearing/feeling them come downshifting down the straight

Found myself at the Concours associated with Watches & Wonders in Miami - some incredible cars there.

AFAIK, Lamborghini only ever made two Countach Turbo S prototypes and it never made it to production - one is presumed lost or destroyed, and the other was black and lives in Europe. Either this guy has found a unicorn, or he's messed unforgivably with one of my childhood icons.

Idk it’s got the right body work for it... then again Florida... might be a tribute.

Popped into Stuttgart........

Hope to see The 991 GT2RS in person this summer. For now will have to be content with upgrades to the current Porsche.
Don’t want to be another Spyder statistic - new tires going on for spring:

In northern latitudes at this time of year, car shows are held indoors. My son and I went the the annual local “World of Wheels” show. I don’t think there is too much “pulchritude” shown in the photos i took. There were the usual Camaros, Mustangs, rat rods, and totally off the wall custom jobs, dragsters, two-wheelers etc. Far too much to begin to cover. But I took pictures of a few of interest to me.

#1 an overview.
#2 a friend’s 1951 Buick woody wagon, the culmination of a 25-year project. One of 1600 built.
#3 1955 Chevrolet
#4 1960 Mercury 4-wheel drive. An exquisite restoration.
#5 1971 Pontiac
#6 Cougar
#7 Being as I have an AMC car, I’ve long had a soft spot in my head got orphan cars. A 1963 Studebaker Lark Daytona.

Lot of exotics on display as well. And for those who are disappointed to not see photos of them? Too many cars, too little time.

After the Rolex Daytona, how about Paul Newman's 300SL? It was displayed at the Retromobile vintage car show, held a couple of weeks ago in Paris. 😀
