Thrashing 500k.... I think I'd be more inclined to beat on a RSR clone with a built 3.8. But that's because I'm poor.... 馃憥

Singer

Even though Singers are made a few miles from me I had not seen one in person until I was up in Monterey. They are stunning and worth every penny they are asking for them.

145 kg/200+bhp. think about that for a moment. no frame, the suspension attached to the engine, a stressed member, via a front subframe, titanium exhaust,if its black its likely carbon (or tires)..... brought to you by the nice people who made Ducati's racing hardware for years.
@Fritz That's very impressive. Looking at the ergonomics, where the seat, gear lever/footrest and 'bars are I would struggle to even sit on it. I nearly bought one of the new Kawasaki H2s but they are completely impractical. I prefer a bit of comfort these days. 145bhp/200+kg, nearly the same as the NCR 馃槈.

An FJ! One of the guys is our area, who has a very understanding wife, bought one of those damn things. I ran into him mid summer the year he bought it and was quite impressed to notice 20,000km on it when he'd only bought it in the spring!

and here I am saving for another Enfield!

Hard to beat the FJR for long distance comfort.
Vintage British bikes with "character". I had a 1964 Triumph Thunderbird years ago. Bought it with the various bits in a bath-tub. Rebuilt it and it wasn't too bad. Kind of wish I still had it. You can understand why the CB750 was the final nail in the coffin for the British bike industry after riding both.
Been playing with the idea of buying one of the modern Enfields. What's you next Enfield?

The Enfield pictured was a '93, it gave me 17 years/76000km of fun and far outlasted the Kawasaki I bought to replace it! (luckily the Oilfield was still in the garage to ride while the Kawasaki got new cams.... every 20,000km!) So I'll likely buy the basic 500.

As for the Japanese killing off the British bike... they didn't need to, the British stopped trying and basically committed suicide. I had a friend that ran a '39 BMW, it was as good as my '62 BMW and both were light years ahead of a '75 Triumph.

And the oil stayed inside! The only time my Triumph stopped leaking oil was at the end of a long winter.... why.... because it ran out of oil to leak! It was all in the pan on the floor. Damn thing needed diapers! At least the Enfield had a oil filter!

That photograph is exactly what this thread was made for ... I actually let out a little "oooh" when it popped up on screen.

I get my Tesla in about 2 weeks, I'll have to post some pictures if that's allowed?

Here are a few that I took from the first round of the 2017 FIA WEC championship at Silverstone last month. The Aston Martin Vantage GTE is such a stunning looking car, and the ByKolles is striking in the Grey and Yellow livery - such a shame the rumours are it won't see the season out 馃檨
