Your autos really travel the world!馃槻 Never thought I'd own a Cadillac but just traded my Audi A4 for an ATS 2.0t AWD and am very pleased. Cadillac has come a long way!馃槑 I know it's no V but the acceleration and overall fun factor are very high on this one.

Agreed. Picked up an ATS 2.0t AWD coupe a couple of months as a winter vehicle. Lots of fun when the roads are decent but still gets me through the slush and snow like a champ.

Living in Green Bay, WI my biggest need was an AWD sedan...the fact that it handles and accelerates like it does was an unexpected bonus!

Doesn't look too bad either!馃槈

To think that I drove a few of these when I worked for BMW in the seventies. Forty odd years on my eldest bought me this fantastic Frederic Dams print for Christmas:

@davy26 - one of my all time favorites! Yea the RSRs were cool but the Bat mobile was the crusher. You raced them? Incredibly jealous. I had a CSi and a 2275 lightweight road car years ago. I sold it for 18k! Great GT cars.

@ChrisN - to many coincidences with you. Spain and a Red S1! My family is from Ibiza.

All this BMW talk. Here are some pictures from The Monterey Historics and auctions this year when BMW was the featured manufacturer.

The Alpina was part of BMW's inhouse collection they used that car and a pristine e28 M5 as paddock cars, everyone else used golf carts lol.

I'm sure there were more than a few of us watch geeks at Monterey. Same thing with Rennsport. We should plan a dinner or something for next year!

Press Cars and Track Days mainly. Early and mid-seventies we also had the 2002 Turbo, but the more regular models, like 2002 tii and 3.0 Si were pretty quick too. After that era I moved on to work for Alfa Romeo and I don't think BMWs have ever been as exciting/attractive as then, even with today's sophistications and electronic trickeries. The cars of my era were not particularly well-made but in the UK we marketed them well and they really were the bees-knees at that time!

Totally agree. I have a new BMW and it's devoid of all character....
