Great pics and stories and cars, guys!!

Speaking of GT3s, the 991 GT3 RS was just launched in Malaysia last weekend. Yes, while I like the charm of older cars, I'm a sucker for modern and comfortable cars :p

On the other side, a good friend just traded his 996 in for a 964 (plus he had to top-up!), and had Akira Nakai-san of RAUH-Welt Begriff flown in to work his magic. The end result was less crazy than I expected, but in a good way.

Still on the subject of Porsches... I had a Macan Turbo test car, and decided to head off to some less traveled roads. Nothing more satisfying than getting a nice car dirty. I don't know if Porsche appreciated it as much as I did ;-)

And finally... have been hooning the new Audi TT for a week, and whilst it shares much with VW's mk7 GTI (even state of tune), this car feels much deft on its feet. I've got a silly smile plastered on my face, when I think about just how fast I can take it through corners. My only gripe: dead steering feel, needs to be better weighted.

This is my 1993 Mercedes Benz E500 Limited. It was the first 4-door sedan built by Porsche.

During the early nineties Porsche sales were not doing well and it so happen that Mercedes Benz wanted to build another autobahn burner using the W124 platform. Enter Porsche who was contracted by Mercedes Benz to perform the chassis/suspension modification and shoe horn the modified SL500 V8 motor into the engine bay of the W124. When introduced, it was hailed as the fastest sedan in the planet with a top speed of 300kph with the speed limiter disengaged.

This car is already hailed a future classic and good examples are now being horded by collectors world wide. AMG and Brabus also came out with a modified version of the 500E, in limited numbers, called the E60 and E65 respectively.

It's interesting how Porsche had no problem doing that for other manufacturers, the Audi RS2 was actually built at the same Porsche facility after the 500E left production, both are pretty special things that are interesting particularly because they're in that first generation of classic sports cars that are daily driver worthy. The Ur Quattro for all its significance is a weekend car as are things like the e30 M3 but the 500E and RS2 can sit in traffic and be a pleasant place to be.

    Rolls Royce Phantom.
A supplier just turned up in a £300k Rolls for a price review meeting. Seemed to take offence when my opening gambit was a 50% price reduction.

For £300k I'd want a car that parks itself with the RR logo on the wheels the right way up too!

@erpin9 wow! Out of curiosity, how much would that car be valued at today? I've never heard of such a car, and I think... nothing like that exists in this part of the world.

@chunkythebulldog I would take offense too! Except, maybe I wouldn't have turned up in a RR Phantom for a price review meeting LOL!

Happy Eid Mubarak to my friends who celebrate! It was a public holiday in Malaysia yesterday, and as public holidays go, I don't usually wake up early. Only in exceptional cases, and yesterday was one of them -- I got to test drive an AMG GT! It looks so much better in the metal than it does in pictures, and since this was an Edition 1, comes with an additional rear spoiler that evens out the butt heavy rear. Sounds like a gattling gun set loose, too!

Yesterday, taming a green beast. Easily one of the fastest cars I've ever had the chance to pilot.

Truly unique, one of the most remarkably designed cars of its era, and typically not thought of in this context...
