I do. My Dad bought a new Series D Rapide when he finished his national service and owned it for three years before selling it when he got married. He still talks about it (57 years after he sold it) as if it was sitting in his garage. I tried to locate it a few years back but with only the registration plate from the 1950s to go on, I came up with nothing.

Back in the late 1980s, my uncle was involved with some sponsorship of John Renwick's Vincent project in historic racing which was an insanely low solo built using sidecar engineering theory. It was a rocket ship but twisty circuits were a challenge. I can remember watching it race at Thruxton which was probably its ideal circuit but it used to scare the proverbial out of the rider.

For most of you who won't have heard of him, Renwick was one of the leading designers/builders of racing sidecar outfits back in the heyday of that sport.

Love Vincents, glorious if somewhat eccentric machines. The most exotic I ever had was a BMW.

and the damn thing only had one lung!

Lets all pause and give thanks for the Ford Motor Company...... for providing cheap, stupidly fast cars to the general public for a lot of years.

After all.... not everybody can afford the big dollar stuff.

Did I miss the huge debate about how quick the M5 is? I mean the E60 M5 is fast, but easts Lambos and Ferraris for breakfast? I think they were likely just cruising after a heavy meal :p Maybe quick against the older F and L cars (e.g. 430, Gallardo), but certainly not by today's standards.

And GTRs are monsters. I drove a Stage 2 tuned GTR putting out some 850hp on wheel; 0-100 in fast, and I hit a 330km/h on long bit of highway. Still the fastest car I've driven yet, and I've been lucky to have driven some pretty quick cars.

Your telling me! The two cars in the background are a 2007 Shelby GT500 coupe
and a 2015 Shelby GT500 convertible.. The 2015 Shelby is rated at 662hp/631ft.lbs torque... The 2007 is a measly 500hp/480ft.lbs

This is my 1992 Porsche 964 RSR 3.8. It has been upgraded with SpeedArt coil over shocks, Alcon 6-piston front disc brakes, roll cage and Lexan race glass.

unfortunately when you hit the LIKE button over a hundred times it still only registers once..........
(makes the 991 GT3 that I saw this morning at the shops look like a toy......expensive and functional but not beautiful like this.)

    I had a 1980 911 Targa.
    No Speed upgrades, just lowered.
I used to love showing people how
stable the car was. At 60mph I would
yank the steering wheel down with my
right hand as hard as I could and let go.
The 911 never even left the lane I was in.
Incredible cars. Blew the engine up twice
though. Never let that sump get low on oil. :)
