I have an agreement with Wind to take the watch on consignment....They see it selling for in the range of $12,000.
Personally, I would not deal with him as a buyer or a seller, but I'll be curious to see how it cleans up, or what he does to it to bring that price. From what I can see, there is a lot of lume loss on the dial, which would not usually bring top dollar. And the bracelet looks badly stretched.

I’m sure you can appreciate some of the animosity here. You got very lucky which is fair enough, but you seemed to do very little research yourself, instead just leveraging the knowledge of members of this forum.
People are happy to help with when it’s to benefit a new collector which is what you initially came across as, but now it seems you’ve simply used that knowledge to flip the watch for significant profit.

Fair, but I am also hear to stay and my end goal is to continue to get an Omega watch and be apart of the community. This sale will only fuel my collection.

Since we saw the serial number I would bet that a large portion of his target customers will pass, since they are us……

Why would you not use him as a buyer or seller? I have yet to officially sign the agreement.

I am new to the watch world and currently looking to start my collection. I stumbled across a good deal and yes I am selling the watch...indeed for more than I bought it for. Which I'm not sure why that's an issue. It seemed like a good deal and I may have kept the watch for myself if it wasn't worth that much. But $12,000 is a bit much to keep a very specific vintage watch. I'd rather use that money towards a different watch. That's like saying you were offered an old muscle car for a banging deal and you ended up buying it and selling it so you could get that daily driver toyota camry that you would have much more use for an fits your needs much better.

I agree, I thought it unusual that they sell all their high end watches to a wholesaler and not market them to their clients. But it is in a rougher area and I don't think they would sell fast. They trust their watch gu and he buys all their stuff so I don't believe they do any research before he buys them.
Hey, I'm just jealous I didn't come across it first, if you wanna sell it more power to you. Screw the virtue signaling bashing you for seeking advice.
Of course, personally I'd keep it, but that's just me and didn't you say you had a new baby? Momma ain't gonna let you keep that bank roll with that baby needing diapers and formula. lol, congratulations.

This comment is gold. This is exactly why I'm selling it. My budget is $1700 and that's with me selling some of my other personal items to make up the difference for my $700 fathers day gift budget. (I got my wife a $700 necklace for mothers day). There ain't no way I can keep a $10,000 watch, and if I could keep it, I would not pick this particular watch for my first higher end watch.

Sometimes it's best to just do what you want to do, and shut up about it.

There's little upside to arguing with (or trolling) established members of a community that you supposedly want to engage with, especially when you really have little understanding of the culture. If the only person supporting you joined two months ago, it may be time to use some discipline and let the thread die off.

Or, if you want to burn your bridges, keep going. Link the sales listing. Promote it. When it's sold, crow about your profits. Have a ball. But keep in mind that communication about sales on this forum happens behind the scenes, by PM. If you really want to communicate (as opposed to promote), that's always an option.

There's a big difference in being a dreaded "flipper" and just being a lucky schmuck, you just lucked up it sounds like. I'm happy for you, go feed your baby and make momma happy.

Well, one- its not a 10k watch to anyone but a fool, to you- its a $901 watch. Two- you have not convinced me that you are legit in any way, always seems to be the guys with piss poor grammar, weird. Wanna buy a Range Rover?
