Authenticity Check

Hi everyone,

I’m fairly new in the vintage omega scene and looking to buy my first watch.

I’d really appreciate any help on helping me authenticate the attached watch, I’m considering to get. I’ve seen a few advice online, in order what to look out for upon opening the watch etc, but I’ve never seen this exact model before so I’m curious to see what more experienced collectors might think.

Any remarks or advice would be very helpful.

Thank you all in advance!

Are you really sure you want to buy that watch? Maybe you should take a little more time to learn about vintage Omega watches. Look around the forum, at watches posted on the WRUW thread, sales listings, etc. Give your preferences and taste some time to breathe.

Welcome!

I hope you realize that this is a ladies size. The reference number is something close to 566.0088. It looks pretty beat up, so I would keep looking.

Authentic, yes, but there are much better options out there.

What exactly attracted you to this example?

Tbh looked much better in the photos I’m attaching now, so thought perhaps the lighting wasn’t doing it any favors in the first place. I provided the specific photo mainly cause of the angle so you can recognize the model easier.
Rondo I had no idea it’s a ladies watch btw so thanks for that haha

If you like this style, check out reference 166.0207 with a 35mm width. But if you are just learning, I would take Dan's advice and continue looking around.

By the way, I was wrong about the reference number in my first post above. The reference number of the watch you posted above is 766.0919.
