are the authentic jubilees much better/nicer than the various aftermarket ones? Which brand of aftermarket would people recommend?
Thanks
Daniel

The jubilee bracelets are hard to decipher....Many faked... I would wanna get this checked out as there are really good copies around. Can't remember if the steelinox should be two seperate words. Think you can find info on it somewhere on google.

Hard to determine from your photos, but if you take this over to the boys on TRF, they will be all over it in no time.

+ 1 as it seems an easy task to put a $25 bracelet onto a clasp...but, you trust your Seller

Where have you found the strap that you have currently on it? I am looking for something similar, only with a different leather color.

I have been told that there are MANY copies around and that it is really hard to find a genuine one. Unless you trust your source 100%, I would go for an aftermarket bracelet that is marketed as aftermarkt. Most of these offer a good quality bracelet for hundreds of bucks less than a (likely to be) genuine example.

Unless you have plenty of $$$ to spend, I'd go for an aftermarket bracelet such as this one: http://www.ebay.nl/itm/20mm-Stainle...5226736?pt=US_Watch_Bands&hash=item486eb87170

That Jubilee looks two tone to me, i'd recommend a stainless steel bracelet to go with your SS DJ. I would never use an aftermarket bracelet, i did buy an aftermarket Jubilee as a temporary measure while i had my bracelet repaired, i hated it and quickly bought a leather strap.

Look for a reputable seller, there are many. Also make sure that the bracelet is from the same time period of your DateJust.

Good Luck

Did the DJ 1601 / 16014 not come with the two tone bracelet with brushed outer links and polished center links? Thought the finishing of the bracelet on mine was polished off during a service sometime: 20140918_183108.jpg

The top photos look like the center links are gold color. The last photo you posted is correct for that model, all stainless.

I see. I believe that the pictures in the opening post are also all SS, but with the middle links polished and the outer links brushed.

Personally, I would prefer to have the correct bracelet or none. That said, I have a mid-'60s 1625 Datejust, with correct folded-link jubilee, but I more often wear the watch on a leather strap, with custom end-links. So that's another option to consider.

The bracelet you've posted looks OK to me, but I'm an informed amateur only, and haven't checked prices on these lately.

In your shoes, I'd post a WTB ad over on the Vintage Rolex Forum Marketplace, asking for a correct bracelet AND endlinks for your watch. You will need to identify the the reference number and serial# or approximate age for your watch.

You will probably get a number of offers from legitimate sellers and can make a decision from there.

GLWT search!

I've seen these end links for sale on the Rolex Forums for $75 a pair. They look good!

They are very nice indeed, Datejusts and most Rolex Oyster cases look too harsh or blocky on a leather strap but the endlinks do change that.

The gap between case and strap connection might als be reduced when a padded strap is used. I am still waiting for my watch to come back from service, but will start looking for a leather strap with/without end links when it is back on my possession.

Bracelets are easy to damage and buyers place a lot of importance on having the original bracelet in good condition. For that reason, I always purchase aftermarket copies of Rolex bracelets for my everyday use - the original bracelet being put away until I want to sell the watch. I have had several from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/wholesaleoutlet990/ They are excellent quality and absolutely nobody would be able to tell the difference without a close inspection - the main thing that would give it away is that there is no "Rolex" embossed on the clasp. The aftermarket bracelets are cheap and so it doesn't matter if they get spoiled.

Cheers

I have ordered a replacement jubilee bracelet for my 1601 from them. The finishing of my own bracelet is completely gone. Might change the clasp on the aftermarket for the original one.
