Here is some great new information just posted this morning at Jakes Rolex Blog with great research by @SpeedyPhill confirming that Stu Roosa wore a Rolex GMT on Apollo 14.

Amazing how in less than 24 hours after I can help confirm the information with an image and additional video and without out even a response to the information passed on, or a thank you, the information can now be seen by millions around the word.

Thanks for the confirmation... I never took credit for that...
Currently trying to find out if really each Apollo 14 crew members brought a Rolex aboard the mission... as all three were Rolex fans!
Furthermore I located the scientific report on the Apollo 14 Heat Flow & Convection experiment which was concluded aboard CSM "Kitty Hawk" on February 7, 1971... as Apollo 14 began its journey back to Earth. This report states that the experiment was conducted by Apollo 14 CMP Stuart Roosa so it's indeed it must be his Rolex wrist watch that we see in the experiment video!

NASA astronaut Leroy Chiao wore his Rolex on four different spaceflight missions...
On three different space shuttle orbiters: Columbia (July 1994), Endeavour (January 1996), Discovery (October 2000)
And on a Soyuz during/from his mission as Expedition 10 leader aboard the ISS - International Space Station during 192 days...
Accumulating a total of 229 Days 8 Hours in space... with his Rolex GMT-Master... Most time for a Rolex in space !

As there's as far as I know nothing new to discover about the Speedmaster-Spaceflight link, we're going to focus on the other 5 letter make...
ROLEX as 2019 marks 100 years since ROLEX moved to Switzerland... BTW make sure to check out the brand new Rolex.org website
Furthermore
... we're bringing the story of space-flown ROLEX watches and a fascinating tale of an astronaut who used his Submariner for several scientific dives and took the same watch up into space aboard the Space Shuttle 馃憤

Tell me something, I have heard several times what astronauts & cosmonauts really think about wrist watches... which break down in space, which are preferred as toolwatch, which are marketed, etc.. You always heard it first on Omega forums but some things I won't write down here!

Here's a preview of our latest article, first of a series on Rolex in space
It has been fun on this forum but for now we have to say off subscribens

NASA astronaut & Gulfstream test pilot Lloyd Blaine Hammond Jr. wore his personal Rolex GMT-master in his official 1984 NASA portrait... He flew twice on space shuttle Discovery during the STS-39 and STS-64 missions

@Petervl I believe Hammond was to first to wear a personal Rolex aboard the space shuttle in April 1991... still going through photo archives
Anyway here's a clear series cockpit photos showing him aboard space shuttle Discovery in September 1994 (STS-64 first ACES suit mission)

2019... While Omega will have the 50th Apollo 11 anniversary, there isn't much that has not been told about the Speedmaster in space. Of course they will have some surprises up their sleeve ( Cerca Trova ) but no spectacular new stories IMHO
Instead I'm going to focus on 1919-2019 = 100 years Rolex in Switzerland and there're still a lot of fascinating stories to be told about Rolex in space !
