My first thought was the Speedy Pro, but I need something more recognizable when bartering for food, so it will need to be the Rolex.

The reality is that I will bug out with whatever is on my wrist that day.

Not trying to fearmonger any more than all the “fake news”… 😁

…but in case you need to bug-out in a hurry to escape whatever imminent threat you have identified, which watch do you grab on your way out:
I'd be looking for my daughter and my wife. Once the three of us are together, we're heading to safety. I won't even think about the watch on my wrist until long after our ultimate fate is determined... #priorities 😉

Pfff... if it really is the end of the world, then I’m going to greet it in style... silk Pjs, smoking jacket, Cohiba Behikes, magnum of Krug followed by a grand Burgundy, wearing this (I shall of course change the strap to a hand strangled albino python)...

Yes but why would you want a spirit level? For post apocalypse shelving??

If it gets to be a bad enough "bug-out" situation for me, a watch would be the last thing I'd grab.

Time will become irrelevant.
Nothing will be operating according to measured time.
People will not go to work or open businesses (if there are any left).
Trains, boats and planes will be static, cars won't be able to get fuel.

Time will become day, or night.
Okay... so we'll mark this as a vote for a speedmaster. 😜

Well, seeing that I have 2 wrists, I would grab my 2 bugout watches.

1. Omega SMP 300m 8800 - Mechanical, impervious to EMP. Downside is it will eventually need servicing...not possible in SHTF
2. Casio GShock GW9400 - Solar powered, wont need servicing. But if an EMP hits...probably wont work.

I’d like to start a new poll, on whether people didn’t read the rules of the original poll or just didn’t care 😁

I'm with @khanmu
But tool watches? No, no, no.

Why lower your standards just because Armageddon awaits.

I’d grab one of my gold Constellations.
I guess it would have to be the iconic dogleg pie pan.
So, that when far off future descendants of mankind eventually unearthed my remains, they would know there was truly sophisticated civilisation in the 20th Century.
(And I’d swap the Burgundy for an infinitely superior Bordeaux 😉)

Are you saying you'd rather have uneven shelves after the apocalypse?

Time will become day, or night.

Day or night mostly, but to-the-second timing will be useful for timing explosions. And to this end, any watch will do.

But Gold. Definitely Gold. It might work to barter with the mutants roaming the desert stockpiling slaves and gasoline.

Although the Richard Mille could be used as a club if you get thrown into the Thunderdome.

There are no rules in a apocalypse.

Well, you may be a contrarian, but at least you didn’t pull a @gostang9 and go all: “Unlike you brutes, I’ll choose to care for my children and wife - what are you people, animals?” 😁

Good point, before the loss of our dog last month, I would have included her in my priority-save group as well!!! 😉

😁
