F@ck Karen and keep up exercising 👍.
18 days in a row is interesting strategy, how do you rest/regenerate? and is it easy to you to fall asleep after the workout at 1am?
I need to work rest days in but there’s that thing about it taking three weeks to make something a habit and until it is a habit I’m concerned a day off can lead to two days off and then a week off and not going back is all.

lol can't believe that's my 20k post but yep... thing is though, 1AM is late no doubt but treadmill on a rubberised anti-shock floor, 60m away from two heavy soundproof doors, apparently it wasn't even noise but "vibrations of my footsteps" like the T-Rex in Jurassic Park
I mean we haven't seen a photo of you...

Mate, I am with you and wishing you to success but '21 repeats for the habit' presumably is one of those over-optimistic myths. As far as I know, 21 times is what it takes for those easiest, least challenging things to change them, on average it is 60-70 repeats to build a proper habit.
Weight reduction never is any easy, noticeable changes will be visible in 3-6 months probably so you are working on the long targets.
Don't know how does your 60 min workout look like, but I have learned that personal trainer pays off. There was significant difference in effects between "my workout" and "the workout from a pro".

For me prefer rowing. Good full body workout and cardio plus low impact.

that’s just me.

make a plan and stick with it. If you are doing any diet modification it’s best to make it as painless as possible to cook. So make easy things or do food prep before you want to eat.

it’s to easy to make an excuse if your hungry and you have a lot of prep work for your meal.

After running the forum all these years i suspect you can handle a day off or two. Just a bump in the road.

Habits are hard, especially for losing weight. The key is keep it simple and enjoy it.

Simple meaning take the stairs and walk whenever possible. I mean whenever possible. Small active movements during the day adds up. It's the "10,000 steps" philosophy.

Then add exercise you enjoy. The kind of thing you'd do without noticing. Climb a local hill for the scenery, not the exercise. Walk around a local lake.

It's easy to say your goal is to lose x lbs or whatever, but if you don't find a way to enjoy the steps to get there, it won't be successful.

Back when I worked in a large office, I made it point to walk around the whole floor several times a day, and take the long way and stairs to meetings. That sort of thing. It becomes automatic after a while.

Good luck!

@dsio

Your doing it all wrong you need to do 3 work outs of 20 mins each with a rest in between do them at 1am, 2am and then at 3am and you may find Karen is quite happy for you to do one workout at 1am after all 😉😉😉

People suck. But so does exercise haha.
I've tried my hand at running - multiple times. And it is just not for me. Outdoor, treadmill, whatever. It's a nope.
I was always very active growing up, but I was not much for organized sports. Anything with wheels or waves had me going all the time
However the only thing that has stuck is cycling, and even that is hard for me to get out and do these days.
But I need to do better. I sit in an office all day and eat like crap.
At least I still have my metabolism, for now...

I'm the same - running for the sake of running isn't a thing for me. I need to be running for a reason - to catch something, to avoid being caught by something, or in some sort of game. That's why I love tennis.

There was a study a while back looking at various forms of exercise and what they do for life span. The results were interesting - the social aspect of exercise is appears quite important to overall well being and increase in life span.

I used to work 2nd shift and liked to work out after which was 430 am.
Someone was always giving me shit for working out at that hour. I cant help it if YOUR schedule has you sleeping during MY gym time!
I filed a complaint with my HOA and they gave me a break on my dues since I couldn't use the gym I was paying for in my HOA.
I used the money from the discount to buy a peloton bike...
(and I still pee in the pool! muaahahahahahh!)

for a person who chose to pay 25% less rent because being on the gym level is noisy to complain does my head in

This is a bigger problem IMO - people these days demand it all. Here in the US (and maybe elsewhere, I dunno) people love moving near airports and race courses then complaining about noise, causing some important commercial and historical facilities to shut down or operate at limited capacity. Just blows my mind, the entitlement

my neighbor calls the air traffic control tower all the time to complain about the airplane noise. we live on a 2x4 mile island here in key west and most of the island is the approach... her name is actually Karen too. lol. she also complains to me about the feral chickens that crow in the morning. just because they happen to be standing in my yard but that doesnt make them mine! I want to throw chicken feed into her little yard so I can call her out on it!!!! lol

Went back to it with a written note from management to leave me the hell alone so now very sore but satisfied. Used the noisy cable machines too as I don’t negotiate with terrorists.

The same way elephants do.
Cheese pizza, Nutella on jatz crackers, mostly chocolate and cheese does it to me.

I like chocolate and cheese they’re my two favorite food groups.
