what does that 7 circles do? ...

I'm guessing power reserve.

Interesting article on the person this watch commemorates, free diver Jaques Mayol.

https://erwangrey.wordpress.com/2015/02/11/the-omega-seamaster-apnea/

"the seven circular apertures on the dial represent the special apnea timing function, for those who venture underwater without any breathing apparatus. When the start-stop pusher at 2 o鈥檆lock is pressed, the seven apertures on the dial successively fill with red each minute from left to right. Once the first seven-minute cycle is complete (and all the apertures are red), the colour successively reverts to the background colour of the dial (black or silver), allowing in total a 14-minute cycle to be timed."

Makes sense now. Having pushers and all. 馃槜 So how long can the OP hold their breath?馃嵖 Cool unique piece.

In the metal, this thing is gorgeous.

Can't help but think that some good photos would have sold this a lot sooner, for a lot more than I paid.

Oh yeah! Wow didn't expect the dial to be beige. Very nice!

PS Is that a poster on your bedroom wall? Those 007 lips will weaken any mans knees.

And I can麓t help thinking that some good photos of the complication - which is this watch whole meaning - would have helped your case here... 馃槈
You already know I have a soft spot for this Omega (even if I personally am more for the black version) - congratulations!

Now get some wrist shots with the complication going! Pronto.

Same stuff but for sailing... and showing what it is all about.

Ahem... Silvered White. 馃槈

That's a copy of the Omega in store magazine... have a few laying around, normally some interesting stuff in there, and the covers make a fairly good backdrop for watch photography. 馃槣

You're not wrong - but a manic two office days (Monday was a holiday here and Thursday/Friday I'm in Amsterdam) this week is robbing me of time... and next week is our conference!

Will try to get some pictures and maybe a little video up. 馃榾

So cool! I bid on one on catawiki recently, but lost. We do seem to have a very similar taste in watches 馃槈

One question though: are the circles red or white once you reset the chrono? On the black one, they're red, but I've read elsewhere that on the light one, they're the same color as the dial in that position.

I just like the weird stuff... As do you 馃槈

On the silvered white dial, at rest they are silver, when you start the chrono, they turn to red over 7 minutes, and then turn back to silver over the next 7 minutes, then red, then silver, etc.

I really wanted the black rather than the silver white, but in the metal, this thing is stunning.

Really getting into the "bond era" seamasters. 馃榾

Will do some better shots when I have a chance... But the general idea is that the red circles count up to 7 minutes, the the silver circles count up the next 7 minutes - it keeps running in cycles until you stop the chronograph.

Thanks chap!

I think I stole this one to be honest.

It wears really nicely - just need to get a half link swapped out and a full link put it. 馃榾
