A good thing Santa might be resting so he might overlook what a bad boy I have been 馃槵!
My first Mark Speedmaster. Cal 861 mk II to be precise.

Congrats! I put in a single, low, bid on it as well, was really surprised that it didn't go higher. I definately think that it was a very decent buy. Out of curiosity, how much higher would you have gone?

Not much higher!! With the added 20% and shipping it was very close to my limit of pain..... Our local currency has also gone "belly up" the last few months, so everything gets more expensive at the moment.
Still happy with it at the price. I was not desperate to get it, but it looked like a watch with very good potential.

can I ask what the price you paid was? or is that rude (PM me if you prefer) also was this on the likes of ebay or from a local private auction?

My opinion as well. I would -probably- have gone just a few hundred up, but not a lot more. I reasoned that I ought to take a small break from purchasing watches which aren't hysterically good deals, and this was borderline. Congratulations again 馃榾

These arrived yesterday evening and couldn't be more pleased!

Certina ref. 8782-2 cal. K.F.320 from I believe pre 1950

Stowa cal. PUW 60 from early/mid 1950s.

I had scoured the internet for info on this one but could not find anything from a Stowa this early. It seems that Stowa either did not keep very good records or they did and were not preserved. I asked for information on this over on the Stowa forum on WUS (I know, I know) and Mike Stuffler was kind enough to help out. He seems to know quite a bit about the Stowa brand and he thought the movement in this Stowa was a PUW 60 and told me these were Chronometer movements and this one was most likely from early to mid 50s. Anyway its a beautiful watch that I'm happy to have in my collection!馃グ

Happy Watch Season everyone!

Do yourself a favor and hit each of them with one of these "cute" tools. Hard.

Very hard.
