Thank you. I am glad I was able to help us both out. I was especially pleased that Seth was able to add the BoR bracelet. So far I have ‘65,’66 and ‘67. Congrats on your 6!

Just bought at auction today MST523, not in working order but I have a spare parts movement for this calibre in stock which I purchased to repair another MST522 just a month back.

Spare parts and movements for these are incredibly hard to find, I suspect Roamer either didn't make many of them or they ended up in landfill.

I don't think that they were particularly rare back in the day so as to why I cant find parts leaves me at a loss.

All original with correct strap, clasp and crown. The case looks very crisp so unpolished.

Roamer SEAROCK Mod 523 2120.617

Those dials are really impressive with the sugary texture. A LE winner!

Bought this back at the British Watchmakers Day in March. Arrived last week. Loving the dial, the blue changes so dynamically with the light - from dark blue to a greeny turquoise. It's supposed to mimic the British sky. Which, seeing as it's mostly grey outside my window I'd say is, er, optimistic 😁. I love the case too - the curve in the side is supposed to mimic a famous bridge in Cambridge where Beaucroft are based. Must stop buying watches now and save up seriously for a vintage Speedmaster.

My 7-year old got his first mechanical today. His eyes literally lit up as we unboxed it. He knows it’s huge (34mm) for his tiny wrist, but he loves it. Total fluke he was wearing his Woodstock tee!

As you may know, I have a fondness for Longines Admiral 5 stars and have just pulled the trigger on this one.

Hoping it’s as good as advertised on Chrono24

I had it on my radar for quite a while but I was looking for a more "special" example. Arrived a few days ago from the Land of the Rising Sun... my new Showa 54 (1979) Citizen Homer Second Setting assigned to a Shinkansen crew member. I was mostly intrigued by the box itself, something I never saw before... apparently it says "Railway Watch" so I would say that it can be the original box that was given to the railway workers with the watch (?). I love its semplicity and the story behind.

Recently picked up one of my all time favorites. I think this is my 3rd one. I know better than to sell it ever again. Last one was black dial and all I thought was "it should've been the blue"....

I posted last Thursday that I’d bought this on Chrono24. I took a bit of a chance for the reasons below.

First, I should mention that these two photos were taken today by me. I think that they are much better than the seller's.

I’ve been looking for another one of these. I like the c-case style and the slim comfortable fit.

I’ve been looking for a quite a while but either the prices have been too high or optimistic, the condition not great or, as with many Japanese sellers (who seem to have cornered the eBay market on these) the descriptions are inadequate/insufficient.

On a random browse, this one was offered on Chrono24. The BIN price was £323, which I was happy with.

The photos were good and showed the movement, the inside of the monocoque case and an amplitude test. The seller’s description was very full and he confirmed that it was recently serviced, that it ran well, that the date adjusted properly and that the calibre 505 quick date advance worked well.

So, as opposed to the luck of the draw on eBay, I 'bought the seller' on Chrono24

My only apprehension was that the seller was in Hanoi and Chrono24 explained that it didn’t run an escrow service to Vietnam and that I’d have to pay the seller direct.

So, I decided that for the price, I was happy to take a chance. Once I’d paid, the seller emailed me about the watch, the UPS postage arrangements and sent more photos including the watch being parcelled. It was delivered within 6 days and is as good as I hoped.

So, the seller is great and I’m very impressed and, for those who, like me, sometimes contend that Chrono24 watches are overpriced, this is either the exception or I shall have to revise my preconception.

The Blue Brother just landed, bracelet is in the ultrasonic bath currently, a bit too much dna for me.

My FIL wants a 2254 but I found the 2255 at such a bargain I couldn’t pass it up. So he will have the choice and I’ll keep the other. Everyone that has one talks the electric blue dial up, and I understand why, it’s pretty spectacular. I will be happy with either so win/win.

Just bought at Auction today

Seller pics

Been hanging out for a Smiths Astral for a long long long time and this one fits the bill nicely with its unusual dial style.
These things are about as rare as a < insert as required >

Apparently in running order, hmm we'll see, my last Smiths Deluxe was sold as running to but on inspection had a broken balance staff and needed a shed load of parts made for it to get it running by my long suffering watchmaker, a real money pit!

I always have an affection for the Smiths Astral, my first 'grown up' watch, superseding my child sized Timex.

The Smiths factory in Cricklewood was near where we lived and it had a large floral clock facing the road.

Smiths, Everest, Deluxe and Astrals generally go for silly money but they are a nice refined movement, Smiths did themselves no favours with there pocket watch range which just cheapened their image, its nice to see however that collectors have seen past that.
They did a good job trading on the whole everest, first to the top with Sir Edmund Hillary, just a shame that the company went by the wayside.
The Smiths watch company is a good website for these as you probably know. https://www.smithswatches.com/collections/all
