Just back in today after extensive repairs and service. What a mission for my Watchmaker!
His comment was that a very inexperienced person had been inside it with many parts broken as a result.
I had to source a set lever Spring for the movement from the Netherlands as one could not be found here in NZ and luckily my Watchmaker had an extensive spares repertoire for Enicars.
Price for repair? My Watchmaker must like me as he basically just charged for parts even though he put a huge amount of time into the repair, even so not cheap and were it not for the original strap, clasp and winder I would have been less happy.
All in all another exceptional repair from my Watchmaker.

Just arrived in this morning.

Enicar Ocean Pearl 27 Jewel, in running order but seems to be missing a second hand, needs a service!

Complete with original vintage strap, looking at recent Enicar strap auctions I can get 5 or 6 times what I paid for the complete package just by selling the strap alone, we live in a strange world.

**EDIT** Opened it up and was surprised to see a high grade micrometer adjustable 27 Jewel movement

Thank you. Back in the 50s and 60s, the British market cases were made by the importers and casemakers for JLC, De Trevars. The case is stamped inside with DTE...and .375 or 9ct for the gold alloy content. Again...the UK. Years ago I bought a UK market 10ct Rolex DateJust. JLC also had similar arrangements with companies in the US market. The seller offers a no questions 14 day return policy and a Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee. One item on the dial concerned me...the closeness of the C and the I in Automatic. But as I searched other examples of JLC, I found several other examples of different ages of originality that also had this. It may have been their dial maker at the time. I also love the 35mm size...will fit right between my 18 Omega Constellation and my 1013 Rolex OP.

Gorgeous watch John. I always liked the 9k and 10k gold cases. Very durable gold and deep color.

Thank you. Am I remembering correctly that you recently acquired a Rolex GMT that had some issues that you were looking forward to dealing with? If I'm right, is there anything new to report?

What are you using for your camera? I looks as if it was having trouble where to focus.

I only have the camera on my Iphone 5, poor lighting, and no photographic ability : 0 )

I've got a few more watches to photograph... I'll probably do that when I can use sunlight

No haute horology, but I've been wanting to find a good Seagull for quite some time now and suddenly a whole flock of them came my way recently... 😀

Also, I expanded my evergrowing skindiver collection with these two. The right one still needs some work, but should be up to speed very soon.

WOW, indeed. And I’ll take the backup dibs position in the event that an unfortunate accident should befall 140dave. Sometimes, things just happen. 🙄
