A "dollar watch" pocket watch circa 1921 featuring my grandmother's heartthrob from back in the day, Rudolph Valentino. I didn't realize until after I took this photo of the watch that the car in the background is actually Valentino's Isotta Fraschini.

Arrived today - purchased on eBay. A mid-60s obscure brand to go with a similarly obscure mid-50s chrono and a couple of 70s Dugena chronos. Off to the watchmaker on Monday!

Never owned an Eterna before but this was reasonably priced (I think) and looked okay (I think) so I took the plunge.

This is the seller’s photo so I’m waiting for it to arrive to see whether it’s good or if it will trigger a bout of ‘buyer’s remorse’.

Well, this arrived today - all the way from Buenos Aires to London - a 1967(?) 1479K automatic. It looks to be in great condition but I’m test driving it to see how it runs.

As I posted previously, I took a chance on the watch but the seller/dealer impressed me and I paid about £130 plus postage and tax, so I was happy to risk it.
