Hi there,
just bought this today for 45USD!
It is my first Gruen and I always wanted a watch with this very cool hands style that I can only find on this brand.
The watch is not working but the movement seems in fair condition or at least complete although the balance wheel remains hidden .
What you guys think, did I go well with this one?

I'm not an expert, but I think if you can get it to work this is a very nice little watch. I wonder what year it is from? my bet somewhere between 1958 and 1965

That's very unexpected if you came to a vintage watch auction 😜
Well, unexpected in that I went to bid on three other things & this just caught my eye. Condition is sharper than my dimly lit pics show & the movement is immaculate, so I'm not too upset 😉.

I didn't get any of the other three, which is a bit of a shame.

All T17's from the 1930's. On inspection one of them was much better than the other two, although they were pretty good too and much better than anything you usually get on eBay.

I missed out by not having one more £20 bid, but it had already reached the limit I was prepared to pay. It went for double what the others fetched. They both went cheap though.

Poor mans Cairelli. I saw it listed for auction some while back. Liked it but didn't make a bid. Actually regretted that, and when it was relisted I decided to give it a go.
Santa came by early this year, and I must have been a very good boy;-)
