I bought this about 3 hours ago. I’m thrilled so far. It’s been stuck in my head for a week and I finally gave in. It’s a
Grand Seiko SBGJ237 GMT.

Nice! Is that the one with the fully-lumed bezel?

My old G-Shock (the one known by some on this forum as the only G-Shock, the DW5600) disintegrated after years of use and abuse. I considered simply replacing it but this one caught my attention and I thought it might be nice to try something different. Prices climbed for a while and I was tempted to just pay the higher price but waiting worked out... supply caught up at least with one retailer and I picked it up right around retail price (I think a couple dollars more to cover customs). Shipped from the UK to the US in just a few days - arrived today. It's pretty cool, I think! @Foo2rama - thoughts? Pretty sure you like this one... 😀 😉 I think my wife wants to get the green one... loves green. 🥰

I have often looked at pics of the Memovox and thought that they looked a nice watch but had never seen one in the flesh. That changed a couple of weeks ago when I was dropping off and picking a watch up from service with my watchmaker and he had this beauty in stock (definitely a trap when your watchmaker also sells watches). It was love at first sight and I couldn't get it out of my head🥰.

I sent him a message early in the week informing him of my predicament and wanting to know what I had to do to own it. A gentlemans agreement was reached and this baby came home with me yesterday.

Mid to late sixties bumper with date. As you can see the case is not over polished, dial has wonderful patina, all the functions work beautifully and feels great on the wrist as you can see in my WRUW post today.

No more talk, time for pics😀😁

One of two additions this week. Couldn’t be happier but I am supposed to be working on subtractions!

Bought an unworn Ultraman this week and then traded it for this mint example on a bracelet. It’s a crime these weren’t originally issued with a bracelet at the given price point. The bracelet is from the Apollo 11 50th. Solid endlinks fit perfectly on the Ultraman.

55 years old Chronostop. She’s minty.
Rubber band bracelet, courtesy of my 8yo daughter.
Like mine, I love the watch. Nice strap, I just ordered a custom one.

Sicura Topaz 200 Worldtimer. I've been looking for one of these for a while but they nearly all have really bad degradation on the chrome case. This one isn't perfect, but acceptable to me, given that finding mint chrome cases is virtually impossible. The 24 hour dial is slightly out, but hopefully that can be resolved when it goes for a service.
The reason I've been looking for one of these fairly unremarkable watches is because you don't often see Jerusalem as one of the named cities.

@JwRosenthal - I believe you know something about Sicura watches. Can you tell me anything about this one? It’s interesting that “Sicura” doesn’t appear on the dial, only “Topaz 200”.

It came on a nice padded "di Modell" strap but I think it would look better with something else. Any suggestions?
