First off, apologies if you've seen me post about this one a bit in the past couple days. I'm new to the forums and just trying to find appropriate places to share my collection. But my most recent get was a 1957/957 bracelet (from the 50th anniversary edition Speedmaster) to sit on my Speedy Tuesday edition. I love that it uses the modern design pattern (with touches like the screw-head pins) but at the same time shares the vintage logo with the Speed Tuesday dial on the clasp. IMO this is the bracelet they should have shipped the watch with 😉

Received the "new" 2627 today. As near as I can tell, it's all original. The dial looks really good but it's flawed. I think it's original because of the printing but the upright is slightly rotated, the printing is not aligned to the center properly... but it's just too good to not be real. Case is polished but almost all of these are.

The crown is remarkable. I'm hoping like crazy it can be saved. My watchmaker can sometimes change the gaskets.

The crystal is original Omega and it's not straight... or the dial isn't. 😁 It's a little too gouged up to save, I think. But I understand what people are talking about when they mention the profile.

So that's what I got for $610. I'm happy and as you can see, an original Omega strap I had.

Be interested to see what you think of the dial.

By the way, it says "SWISS MADE" at the bottom and the hands and dial are non-luminous.

Breathtaking dial.
Yes its always fun to find these gems from unknown or smaller brands. And in my experience you rarely find this condition on light dials, they seem more fragile to aging than dark dials!

Heuer Autavia 2446C, Mark 1

Not so easy finding a good one of those nowadays...

Produced from 1968 for only three years I think there were significally less examples built than for example of Speedmasters of this time.

The watch is powered by a Valjoux 72, for more info check out OTD

This example IMO has an excellent condition dial with very bright white subdials and excellent lume with a light and even patina.

The case is a bit rough but looks unpolished to me. Caseback and bezel show the expectable wear but engravings are all still present and good visiable.

Hands, crown, pushers seem all to be original, EDIT: crystral seems to be a later replacement

Enjoy!

And a wristshot 😉

Very nice Autavia; how can you tell if it a replacement crystal or not? Is there a tell tale sign for example or is it the shape or presence of a flange?

Hi, thank you for your question, I'm very unshure about original crystals, here some info I found:

"At the risk of being too picky, I would advise you to take a good look at the acrylic crystal. It should be flat with beveled edges. It is difficult to source a replacement and many of these watches have to make do with a domed crystal. In my opinion, this hurts the look."

Just got this today.

Full set with card, chronometer certificate and white tag.

What captivate me would be the uniformly faded blue bezel. It is almost grey at certain angle.

Though I have another 2531.80 with tritium lume, somehow the faded bezel give it a much better worn out look.

Found this on Facebook marketplace listed only as a “GMT” with no mention that it’s a fat lady and only made for 5 years...

Seiko 62 MAS reinterpretation - the SBDC051 - Japanese Domestic Market. Domed Sapphire Crystal - super-smooth bezel, dia-shield protective coating, beautiful polishing - 6R15 movement - Seiko upped their game on this watch. Now, it is hard to decide which watch to wear - my Sinn 104 or the new Seiko. The only downside is the strap - very comfortable but a dusk magnet. I have ordered an Uncle Seiko Waffle strap to replace the Seiko strap. Purchased it from Gnomon in Singapore. Three-days shipment via DHL. I asked GNOMON to photograph and check the watch for alignment issues - the gladly did - and sent me a photo within several hours of my request.
Just had the opposite of great customer service with Gnomon. Ordered a Batman Turtle and asked for a photo to insure that the chapter ring lined up with the bezel and dial. They sent a photograph and it did. Also requested a sapphire crystal replacement. The watch that showed up was not the watch I ordered. Chapter ring was off centered and when I wrote about it, got a somewhat snarky reply about bezels. The watch was returned to them at their cost via DHL and it has been a difficult process. I will not purchase a watch from them again.

This is the watch I ordered and approved shipping.

Watch below is what I received.

See the difference in the chapter ring and alignment.
