I've been looking for an understated blue dial Rolex for some time now and finally had a chance to pick up this original and unpolished example from 1974.

Looks great Kushal. Your patience really paid off. 👍

I bought myself a Christmas present earlier than usual this year. With more than four weeks of the year left, is it too dangerous to say this will be my last of 2018?

Breitling Top Time 2002, waterproof, circa 1967. The sunburst dial is flawless - all those scratches and marks are on the glass. One dealer looked at it, looked at me and asked "I didn't think you liked pristine dials?" .

You're on a roll for sure.

Never thought I would be able to get one. Really happy with this JLC Futurematic Porthole.
...
I’ve always loved these, and would jump at the chance, too.

Congratulations!

I decided to allow a small impulse buy on Tuesday when I saw this one in two different mall stores (somewhat surprisingly)..

I really do love the dial... the crown is 'king', and the movement display is impressive as well. Lotsa ‘bang for the buck’ with this one 👍.

But I didn’t buy either store watch...

Nope. Instead, I found an amazingly well-priced one on Amazon!

Should be with me in a few days...

Depending on how much I like it on the wrist, it may end up as a Christmas gift to a family member... or NOT 😁 !!

As I'm holding a very similar bracelet in my hand right now, I have to ask, are there any markings on yours?
Unfortunately the bracelet on mine is not original.

My first Connie.

Many, many thanks to OF and the distinguished member kind enough to part with such a beautiful piece.

Well worth the two weeks wait whilst she journeyed from San Francisco via UPS to Saline, Michigan, hand carriage across the pond to Heathrow, Cambridge, Leamington and finally to Shoreham where the glorious winter sunshine seemed to know there was something special to shine upon.

Kind of lifts the spirits don't you think?

Succumbed to temptation on an advance purchase 🙄:

I adore the dial finish, sandwich-layer quarter indices, simple bezel, 39mm size...

I already know Baltic's wonderous fit and finish (my Bicompax), so I'm sure it won't disappoint...

It was a tough decision vs. this other dial choice:

...and I might still pull the trigger on both, and send one back!

Been looking for a milwatch for awhile. This ones is a Smiths Deluxe - one of around 12 documented made for Australia. Any Smiths fans here?
