路I was watching one of these awhile back. If the bidding hadn't picked up I'd have bid on it. That example had a rather messed up crystal from an ill considered attempt at polishing away scratches. I could probably have polished it out properly but not worth risking the amount it finally went for. I expect a replacement crystal for one of these is as rare as hens teeth. Really beautiful though.
Cheers mate and @Jwit it's a lovely piece and will be cherished for some time.
From what I can tell the crystal is a sapphire type and has quite a raised lip. A proper replacement would be tricky 馃槣

Seller calls it a 60's chrono with a Valjoux 7733 inside.

路Following the overwhelming info on my Magrette post, I took a leap of faith, it arrived today, my new beater...
First impressions are that it wears and is built like a PO, size isn't too scary. Straps are very well made and the case is something quite a few top marques could have a look at. All told, very happy.
