From what I can tell the crystal is a sapphire type and has quite a raised lip. A proper replacement would be tricky

 

Just arrived a few minutes ago, a soon to be 40 year old Speedy ST145.022, and happy to see it is in a really nice condition. Someone’s been wearing this with love, and so will I. Next it will get a service and cleaning.

 

This arrived today, will post more shortly, currently out using it. Very impressed.

Seller calls it a 60's chrono with a Valjoux 7733 inside.

Following the overwhelming info on my Magrette post, I took a leap of faith, it arrived today, my new beater...

First impressions are that it wears and is built like a PO, size isn't too scary. Straps are very well made and the case is something quite a few top marques could have a look at. All told, very happy.

 

Finally picked up the 1982 speedy that I bought a month ago. So, so happy!

And then I also had a bit of fun today trying on a few aspirational watches

 

It was an expensive three days....

Sadly out of my budget That watch alone is worth my entire collection.

 

Interestingly, the timekeeping straightened itself out around four hours after a full wind. Now it’s nearly perfect timing.

Go figure!

 

Maybe the hairspring was tangled up and it cleared itself.

The bloody strap from bleedin' England arrived today. Just in time for Independence Day. How appropriate. Now I am free to wear this watch as I intended, without further taxation. ;-)
