Wow! Never knew you could keep a 40+ year old watch that clean.

I'd moved away from Omega over the last several years and turned my attention towards vintage Heuer and Rolex/Tudor. Glad I decided to come back. Came across this one at the place I get my watches serviced and couldn't resist - Speedmaster 376.0822 on original bracelet. Pic doesn't do it justice. Omega Speedmaster.jpg

The pic might flatter it a bit. The gold plating looks its age, though still clean enough, and there's slight discolouration near the 1 o'clock marker. The plexi was pretty beat up, too, but overall the dial, indices and hands have held up really well.

Well yes, AJTT came today (thanks Darren!)
... but is it wrong that I'm a little bit more excited about the correct and unused box and papers that arrived today for my Seth Thomas Roamer Stingray? It's like introvabile squared. Most satisfying $6 I ever spent on the 'Bay. :)

there is something viscerally satisfying when an empty box comes together with the right contents - just the thing to satisfy an obsessive soul

A Tudor folded-link jubilee bracelet for my 7795/0 arrived today. Thought I'd give it a try vs. the current leather, though I usually end up preferring the latter on most watches. :)

A385, found during a recent jaunt to NYC with my father. Red stop seconds to be replaced with the correct paddle hand presently. Better pics next week. Excited to own my first Zenith.

This arrived today...all the way from Romania!

Dial has recessed furniture, great patina and love the hands...I was a little concerned about buying this from Romania but the seller checked out references wise and sent me some very nice high definition pictures. After a little due diligence on this model I decided to go for it and am pleased I did.:D

Was curious about one thing though...there is a stamp on the one O'clock lug, looks a little like a flower...

My camera had a hard time capturing this, I took several shots and this was the best one. Was wondering if anyone here knew anything about this?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers
    Ed

My best guess is an import mark of some kind, but not one I have seen before. Great looking watch, love the overall patina on this one! I have an incoming from Romania too... I am curious how long yours took to arrive?

That was my first thought, an import mark or some type of tax mark but as you said its one I haven't seen before either. looking at it with a loop it is very detailed, more so than the typical import stamp. My watch took over two weeks to arrive. I think I paid for it on the 11th, it shipped on the 12th and I received it today. It came via Romanian post handed over to USPS. Good luck with your incoming and post some snaps when it arrives!

An excellent purchase, that dial must look even better in person. Thank you for sharing, Ed.

This just in.... also from Romania. Needs a new crown (any ideas on a good source welcomed!), but is otherwise in fine condition.
