Two new Haveston straps:

The Subbie is modelling the 'Carrier' strap, and the SM is modelling the M1936 strap.

This was picked up off Ebay for little cash outlay in order to sample the convenience of a vintage watch with an alarm feature. Sat in the Post office all Labor Day weekend before being rescued on Tuesday. Had time this morning to photograph it. Since Tuesday morning it appears to have gained about 20 seconds per day. Likely won't be seen again on the Forum until after it has a service and a crystal.

Auction photos

I'm not very familiar with vintage Favre Leuba. I'd figured on picking up a Vulcain Cricket, but this one intrigued me as it appears to be a more uncommonly encountered alarm watch model. Has an attractive stainless steel case of substantial weight for its 34 mm size. The alarm is strident, yet not grating and works great.

Another watch from 1968, a Geneve Admiralty no date cal. 552.

Case is in not bad shape, the crystal, however, has some unusual crazing and is somewhat deformed. It's off to the watchmaker next week.

I was somewhat surprised by the 17mm lugs; their narrow width and longish legs give the case something of a bigger wrist presence, IMO.

The bracelet, a Fixoflex is kind of cheesy...

I ordered the new Omega micro adjustable clasp for my 2254.50. It got here in less than a week. I just put it on this morning and I love it. No more taking the half link in and out. Worth every penny, IMO. One word of caution. I gathered all the part numbers from a post on WUS. The post's numbers were all correct, but the install requires for more screws than the thread I copied called for. Even though my bracelet uses compression pins, the install of new connecting links for the bracelet requires a total of 8 screws and 4 straight pins. Luckily I figured that out ahead of time and ordered enough. At 5 bucks a piece, Omega is proud of those screws. It does make for an easy DIY upgrade to the bracelet. I think it is better designed than the Rolex clasp, and the bracelet is a lot more comfortable,
IMO. I have the speedy style bracelet not the original seamaster, but the clasp can be bought for either.

I have never seen a MKII with an applied logo on the dial. Does the case fit a standard Speedmaster 321 dial?

I'm not sure what my €15 has bought me on eBay but the cheerful face will resonate with anyone who used to read 'Thomas the tank engine', and the seller asserts that it works well.
My limited research suggests that this ETIC diver is Swiss made but the prospect of trying to work out how to adjust it and what it is capable of will prove an interesting challenge.
