Was bummed out after a missed opportunity so I bought myself a Keleran ostrich strap for my Seamaster to cheer me up! (Ebay Seller: Soulsis78556h)

Late night sleepy eyed bargain purchase. Thought at first I'd made a terrible mistake, but a valjoux 7750 is a valjoux 7750 so resale isn't a problem. Seller in Austria (a collector) tells me he bought it from a Swiss collector in the 90's...Which would kinda fit the look. It seems to be quite scarce. Gangl is a 3rd generation jewellers in Cincinnati that assemble and manufacture quality timepieces.. that's all I know..they don't appear to even have a website or an email! lol.

Incredibly happy to pick up this LWC (Lewis Watch Co) chronometer with the Aussie made goodies that comes with it - including straps, leather pouch, Western Australian jarrah travel trays and a Bergeon tool. Over the moon with this buy!

Oh, and adjusted to +/-0.5 secs per day!

I tried a Casio and hated it. I hate digital watches in general apparently. Was thinking of a cheap plastic swatch but I'm a goddamed Watch guy. Can't do that. Then I happened on this...yesssss my official beater watch.

I ordered this awhile ago and it came in while I was away from home. I made it back to discover it waiting. It is worth the wait. A big thanks to Kelly Ann of the J-R Boutique in NYC (ignore the book, it's just propping up the band). This strap is basically the Omega OEM NATO without the extra flappy piece. I find they make some watches too tall on my wrist for my liking.

Sasha hiding, thinking we can't see her:

Now, sadly, I have to send the 2254.50 off to Al for some overdue TLC.

While I was away, surfing the net, I stumbled upon a Heuer homage that I just couldn't get out of my mind. The guys that designed this on the F71 site love them and they all seem to give it high marks. For me, I'll probably never be able to acquire a Heuer, so this scratches the itch (at least I think it does). It will be here this week, which means I won't see it until the end of the week again:

Wow - that sent me to Timex's website for the first time ever, and while that one appears to be out of production I found this:

So handsome. And it's 38mm! Too bad it's quartz though - I'm having trouble deciding whether I want to pay ~$75 for it, while I'd have one on my wrist right now if they could put a cheap Miyota or Sellita automatic into it and charge 20x the price....

Was sorely tempted by this piece of history this morning, might have to go back for it as I've always wanted a cool stopwatch to go around my neck. A 'trackmaster' would go well with the Seamaster and Speedmaster 😀

::sigh:: My (screen)name is JimmyD and I am an addict. I have not bought a broken watch for 3 hours.

Yup ... I bought another broken watch .... but I see these things and I have to save them. Broken balance staff, broken centre wheel and it needs a crown ... and that's just what I can see but she's mine. We will make her better. Stronger. Faster. (K, maybe not faster) ....

I also bought these two. They are working, are clean as a whistle and were pennies but I need to get a couple of keys that fit to pass them on to new owners.

This came in yesterday, but finally sized it today. Hipster of me I know, but couldn't resist.
