i bought this today to go with my smpc , i love the rose gold , i think it really dresses the watch up. i borrowed the pic from sellers auction
Purchased from Otto Frei several days ago and took delivery yesterday...a genuine Waltham 16S blue steel small second hand. I wanted [needed] the small second hand on my Waltham Vanguard to be correct and based on all the research that I've done, the "cloverleaf" second hand is correct. I don't want to be OCD, but I "need" correctness! Meeting with my watchmaker at 1300 today for installation of the correct small second hand...I hope he lets me observe the installation [I would understand if he doesn't]...I feel that it would be EXTREMELY interesting and entertaining to see him do his work...
I bought three of these Songmics cases from Amazon ...well pleased to have my collection more accessible and all those individual boxes out of the safe.
I've wanted the soccer omega for a while but didn't want to pay the price. I saw this Brand new Tissot with the soccer feature and immediately purchased it. I didn't know it existed until now. I'm very happy with it.
I've recently become enthralled with pocket watches, specifically the movements and the beautiful damaskeen finishing on some American made brands. I saw this salesman's sample 1929 Hamilton with it's display back and I had to have it. Some tool marks on the balance bridge and the barrel but otherwise very nice. A nickel case, I think.
My new Tissot beater with a 2481 movement. It's at the other end of the scale from many of the posts but at USD $65 I'm fairly certain it can't be 'beaten'!
Not a buy so perhaps it doesn't belong here but my grandfathers Nivada, which my mother found in a drawer a couple of months ago, has just returned from service. Didn't get a chance to wear it before it went, so it feels like a new arrival Movement dirty as hell and date didn't work. Watchmaker did a very good job and it looks and runs terrific now A bit small but looking so forward to wearing it. It's on a Condor nappa strap and when I put that on, I suddenly remembered why I mainly wear Horween shell cordovan. So it will get new shoes again soon. Here it is next to my other grandfathers, father's side, old 2639.
Arrived yesterday and now she is happily ticking on my wrist. Thanks to @incabloc to make this possible!
You know when you have a shitty day, yet somehow you manage to score a neat watch that puts a big smile on your face?
An auction buy which I think I overbid for but I'd decided I liked the look of it, so I couldn't let it lie... I happened to have a broken lozenge bracelet that I fixed up a bit (though some of the links are over-stretched but it seems to be holding together). Thought I'd try it on a blue leather strap to see how it looks, too - though the one I had to hand is 18mm and the lugs are 19mm on this Seiko. This one dates to 1967, though I need to do a bit of checking up as the dial, movement and case back design look more like 1964, though though the serial no says it's June 67...
After buying a 6 digit SubC, a BLNR and a D Blue, I have gone back to what I like: a nice 5 digit 16610 Sub. If I can find a glidelock for it, it will be perfect (can anyone source one for me?) I love the smaller case vs. the modern maxi case. Also bought a Laco Erbstuck I though I might like. We'll see if I fall in love with the faux aging.
I didn't quite buy this today, but it just arrived so I thought I would post it! A Seiko! But what's in the box? And now for a lume shot! This is the new samurai released this year. I feel that I should comment that the rubber strap that it came with is extremely soft and comfortable, unlike the one that comes with the skx. Now, what straps do I buy, this is my new dilemma. Already have a NATO strap on order from phenomnato, but I'm thinking a staib mesh. Also, don't hate me for the bezel not being in 12 position for the photo, I was using it to time something earlier in the day.
Haven't seen this hobnail dial variant. Looks awesome! I would suggest Toxic Natos, and any strap maker that makes single pass leather NATOs. I also have this Pepsi stitch on speckled grey leather from @Watchdisplay you could have made(or something similar).
My Seiko 5 Sports (SNZG11J1) in blue arrived last night, just in time for a weekend camping trip/gig.
