I did try that when I unboxed mine but my phone's too large to stand up in the cavity when the lid's closed. How did you manage it?

Place the phone camera [on it's side with the camera lens topside] in the front of the large accessory bin. The large accessory bin hatch will need to remain partially open in order to accommodate the phone camera but the main presentation box hatch should be able to fully close. Prior to closing the main presentation box hatch, set the timer and flash functions on the phone camera, mash the pic button, close the main presentation box hatch, wait for it...get ready...here it comes...KABOOM! You have a pic from inside the presentation box with the main hatch fully closed! Good times!

Now you REALLY need to come join us at Dunkin Donuts - if I can figure out a way to "work from home" here at DD, and talk watches and flying with @Mad Dog , you being the creative fellow Naval Aviator that you are, you can too! Bring your P.I. Special belt buckle, your squadron hat, original issue HGU-4/P sunglasses from flight school and your Speedy.

I made an impulse buy. I know I shouldn't. Listed online; not seen, let alone inspected ... but she's not bad for a 70 year old lass!

Been looking for an issued Seiko RAF Gen 1 for a while, then a dozen come along in a single auction at great prices, so went a bit mad. Screen Shot 2017-06-10 at 08.55.39.png Screen Shot 2017-06-10 at 08.55.12.png Screen Shot 2017-06-10 at 08.54.27.png

Watches are like buses ... you wait for ages and then four come along at once.

I'm sure you saw the little Rolex yesterday ... I've had three offers to buy that already (not from here) and it's going to be a catch and release, going to a loving new home. I don't want to let that go but I now need to recoup those funds. You see, I bought this:

    IMAG0776.jpg

But that's not what I need the money for. You see, I also bought this:

    IMAG0777.jpg
But that's not really what I need the money for either. You see .... I bought something else too .... I'll just leave a teaser for now .... IMAG0771.jpg
I bought one of those. I've never been so happy to spend so much money in my life!

Thanks to @Omega1 for the inspiration to pick up an old Timex. Manual wind, crystal a bit scratched but all else great, with original band and buckle. Have slowed with acquisitions recently because hard to find decent-condition pieces that I want that aren't too expensive.

image.jpg Breitling Hercules. Central seconds and minutes for chronograph. Chronograph minutes and hours also shown on subdial at 6. Running seconds at 3, and a 24 hour counter at 9. ETA 2892 with a module. Thought it was a fake at first due to duplication of functions.

I was at my watchmakers shop today. He has a partner and some times his partner sells watches he buys off customers. So I asked him if he had any JB Champion bracelets. He opens a cigar box and Sim Sim ala Bim produces these. The horned bracelet is not JB Champion but Tradition. I had no idea Champion/Forstner was making these for, I assume, Sears. Almost new condition, horned ends, yyyeeeeeeesssss! both for under a $100. 2017-06-10 001.JPG 2017-06-10 002.JPG 2017-06-10 003.JPG
I would love an opinion on value of the bracelet. Tradition vs JB Champion.

If you, or your partner, ever need to measure something up to 8 inches long then you're set! (Best not go exaggerating anything in the near future ... ).
