An "accidental" auction win with a very slim hope of a brown dial, will have to wait to see when it comes in. So here's to some luck and a hope that one brownie attracts another!
I was not supposed to buy any watches for a while, but it was love at first sight when I saw it, Seamaster 176 007 blue on blue with Cal. 1040. Fully serviced and a two year warranty (first time ever for me). Serial number puts it from 1974. A box was also included .
Well this one is not that I bought today but was a long time at restoration process... so for me it's brand new in my wrist
Picked up another Accutron today just love these watches... you can buy them for not a lot of money and they have a great vintage vibe...
So I just completed my first month of part-time consultancy work in over two years and decided to scratch an itch that's been growing for a while. I'm kind of picky and looking at my very modest collection, I saw that I have chrono, diver, dress, dual timer and beaters (of various types) all covered. So what was on my list? This And I just bought it for a reasonable price from Jomashop. It's the discontinued Airman 18 purist (39mm) and it should scratch the 24 hr watch itch that's been bugging me for a while. I love the look of the gilt hands against the black dial Now I've got to wait for it to crawl across the Atlantic!
Grail! I've wanted one of these things ever since I got into old timepieces... a Hamilton 940. About as good as it got when it came out just before the turn of the last century. This one is later.. about 1911.. (seller's pictures) and is on its way to me now.
Snagged this 2713-4 a few days ago. Fell in love immediately after arrival. Haven't found much information regarding this piece.
I thought I was doing pretty well resisting the urge to buy some beauties for the last 6 weeks... but then I guess the 'depression' finally lifted! Two in one night (Friday):
Found these at a yard sale today..$20 for both. Invicta Professional Ocean Baron GMT, and Invicta Sub Aqua Noma III Chronograph (my wife claimed that one, 'cause its pretty).
