My first Omega Seamaster GMT 50th anniversary and an all back bezel insert, should be here next week.
Went today to my local OB to have a look at the Globemaster and then they told me they have a CK2998 available. I love this watch but the original strap didn't convince me from size perspective. And then they showed me the bracelet and I was sold immediately.
Scratching that OCD itch with a cache of signed Tissot buckles from the 1950s. These critters are really hard to find, especially in stainless steel. The subtle signature logo is on the underside and is easy to miss. I would guess that most buckles were simply thrown out when the straps were changed.
Usually a vintage manual wind Longines guy but wanted a daily wearer in auto and found this for a great price and couldn't pass up. Don't have a movement shot but LP from this time period have very nicely finished movements (albeit not in-house ones, but nice quality nonetheless). Bad iphone shot, sorry.
I know and was following the chat! Actually came across someone who has an original blue dial day/date. But, bottom line, I love it and being my first vintage Seiko, am very impressed with the quality of the case. And, referring to something you said, whoever did this has done a great job!
Dibs please! But feel free to love it for a while, I'm currently avoiding watch purchases.... and it's hard. Very very hard.
Ha! Yes, it is a stunner and if it is a re-dial, don't care! Wasn't cheap but is great shape and am delighted with my first vinatge Seiko. However, if it loses the love, I know where to go! Know what you mean about the craving....I was at ten, then slimmed back to six which is my optimum number (wrist time etc), and now back to eleven although my gold Zenith is about to go.
