This one arrived last week, thought I ought to show it here:

Fantastic looking Eterna from 1940 (looking at online serial number database), with lovely case and lugs. The dial has a scratch and small dent, but it's not enough to detract from the overall look, IMO. Completely in love with the gilt numerals which I believe I'm allowed to call "art deco style" 馃榿

The movement is a Valjoux 22, which was serviced last year. Perfect.

$15 Ebay special.

Free shipping too.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/162290358961?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Suffered an "accidental purchase" while shopping elsewhere on Ebay.

Not sure it was worth it but ... hey, we do what we can here at the Home For Wayward Mongrel Watches.

Auction says it was slow but it's gained a minute since the beginning of a three-day test on Friday when it arrived.

For some reason I like old Zodiacs. I'll "save it for seed." May get it serviced when I get caught up on other watches' needs.

What a wonderful piece..I remember missing out on one about 6-7 years ago. Being an avid fly fisherman it was a natural choice and compliment to yet another hobby!
I was affordable too..But not anymore!

I have a developing fascination with these tiny old Zodiacs too. The graphic design of the numerals in these two very different arrivals caught my eye.

They will be added to these:

Ran into this pie pan the other day. Certainly not cheap and I currently have no use for it but it's nice to have, because when you need one, they are impossible to find (I know because I'm in the hunt for an arrow head for my ref. 2852)

Just bought this from a fellow member. It will replace my '66 Connie. Love the Connie, but the non-quickset date is a PITA for a dress watch.

The Connie will have to go on the blocks:

Congrats! I'd take the iconic cal. 854 movement in the IWC over the Omega any day, as well.
