Incoming...An interesting and anonymous Super Compressor diver. Beautiful size at 42 mm. ETA 2824 ticking inside. Seems to be French issued with interesting markings on the case back. I'll post better pics when it lands. (sellers pics)

Picked up this Doxa on fleabay as an inexpensive project. Nice size at 37-38 mm. Doxa cal 103 (ETA 2391) manual. Serial number indicates 1949 manufacture. I believe the case is chrome plated with a stainless bezel and case back. I've looked at a lot of pictures here and the on the interwebs and haven't found a Doxa case like it so it may not be original.

I'm hoping to replace the hands soon, straighten the dial and have a daily wearer.

I had that one on the radar, hoping for a cheap buy - glad someone here snapped it up!

Looking forward to seeing it on OF soon - and I'm really curious about the accompanying box that was mentioned in the description :)

Thanks! Though in my view, it was a cheap buy! ;)

Undervalued brand, with the exception of chronographs (of course).

I agree completely. Even though it was cheap, the "margin" wasn't big enough for my tastes. I hate bringing finances into my approach to the hobby, but unfortunately I'm forced to prioritise. My last purchase, the Tissot, ended up a fair bit cheaper and I know that if I was forced to do so, I could liquidise it fast.

...I love everything about that Alpina, though. Even the strap is a perfect match! Here's hoping it's period piece :)

A case for my model 1892 Waltham, the old one was nasty and bent..... so we tossed the beat up 1890s Waltham that was in this case, cleaned it up and stuffed in the '92 CPR...... best $40 I ever spent, it looks lovely and feels big and solid...... mainly because it is!
