Well a severe lack of funds means I can't get an alarm watch that I really really want (as the spice girls would have said), so I've settled on this today, on its way from Germany........sellers video, complete with ticking clocks and a bit of sexual healing...

I was afraid someone might redial this and felt that I had to rescue it! This is actually my first Connie (seller's pix, edited by me)...

Oh look, another speidel stretchy band to add to the collection! (and needs a proper crown)

Been a busy week at work as well as my little feathered friend being of colour and visiting the vet for the last two nights but I managed to pick this little gem up from the post office on my way home from work before visiting the vet.

As a result of one of the many enablers on this forum I have a new incoming which is on its way as I type. @Modest_Proposal dropped me a PM suggesting that the below would make a nice addition to my fledgling Longines collection and he was right. I have now blocked him so that he can't cause any more trouble😜 Hope to see this early next week....
Sellers pics.

Should make a nice little trio😀

Mark II racing dial inbound. Seller's pics slightly edited by me. An aged/faded orange sweep chrono hand, but dial looks clean otherwise as does movement. Speedy experts please weigh in on anything that looks off!

Nice Aquasport! They seem to be less common than their "Antimagnetique" cousins. Oh, and the Calatrava is okay as well...🥰 Is it a ref. 1503/1?

Not shore about the rarity of the aquasport, but in Scandinavia there is plenty antimagetique around and this is the first aquasport i seen for sale in many years and i like to buy Tissots.

Yes the patek is ref1503/1 35mm from late 40s the only problem is the houer hand is replaced, the seller is still looking for the orig certificate so crossing my fingers and waiting for Santa.

Not old but with a lineage stretching back to the 60's. A brand new Seiko 5. With their own in house automatic movement, nice stainless case, day/date and waterproof. After one week the timekeeping is chronometer standard. It cost less than £100 and I believe can be had for less than £60. I've been reading about these for a while and thought I'd try one, well actually two and I'm very impressed.
Please excuse the dreadful photos.

I love the Seiko 5. In the UK Watch Shop an authorised Seiko online seller are doing these for £59.99 not bad as RRP is £99.00. How well are these regulated when they leave the factory? Servicing this watch after 5 years would not economically be worth it. A quartz with battery changes should run at least 10-15 years plus. However, what reliable lifespan could I get out of the Seiko 5 without it ever being serviced? A S5 would be my beater of choice with my Boctok Amphibian. I do want to pull the trigger on one.

Picked up a watch to personally work on.

Case, dial and movement in pretty nice shape. Crown, crystal, hands and case back not so much.

First up is learning how to remove a screw in crown...
