@gatorcpa talked me into buying this, today. I admit I'm weak.

That's what I'll say next time my wife complains about me buying ANOTHER watch: @gatorcpa made me do it. I'm sure she'll want to have a word with him.

It doesn't work. She played the "If-gatorcpa-jumped-off-a-cliff-would-you-follow-him?" card. I didn't have the courage to tell her that it would depend on what watch he was enticing me with.

Was chasing a Great White this weekend, but lost it. Got a consolation prize in this solid gold/ s/s back IWC ref 910A from 1965!

Kind of a little streak going on ... couldn't say no even if its not vintage... full set 2011 original factory seals still in place ..never worn. Rested in a safe until today !

Actually got one in 18K, condition as NOS too. I must say that IMO these 2 IWC´s were among quite few bargains that were made.

Black dial Excelsior Park EP4 chronograph bought yesterday.
In need of some TLC, but a very honest looking watch IMO. 😀

This American cousin of @Northernman 's black sheep arrived this morning! 😀

Another example of supreme "under the radar" quality!
It looks extremely nice with just the correct hands and a gracefully aged dial.

via virtual 'Air Drop' type packaging (bombs away!) from Poland:

I love the simple, symmetric dial, with nicely patinated gold hands...🥰

BTW, I just did a Geiger counter reading on my new Pilot, and out of the 25+ radium-dialed watches I own, this one sits at #6 on the list with a reading over 500 CPS! Here's a video I just took of a measurement:

FYI, this does not alarm me in the least (I wouldn't be buying vintage if it did) 😀.

I know that unless one works on the dial and doesn't take the proper precautions, there's nothing to worry about, but it's still fascinating 'science' to me!

Congrats on the new addition.
But our perception on radium in watches may need to change if this article means anything to vintage collectors.
