Dear Anders, @Northernman, I have another thing boiling, that if I succeed with it, it will really make you speechless...馃槜
There may be a Viggen around the corner too, but it麓s a long shot. Not any of my ones, though
There were a multitude of factors that occurred in this purchase.....
1) A dibs call by me to Kyle on this watch - and I've passed up a couple dibses that hurt recently. Well, not this time!
2) I sold a large hippocampus logo Seamaster last year, and it has bothered me since. Love those big sea monsters!
3) The Watch Gods must be appeased, and I was afraid I'd be in their dog house if I turned this one down.
4) It's in such excellent condition.
5) I never got that Seamaster XVI because I could never find one crisp enough. Gold is soft, but steel is more durable.
So I'll shut up now and give you the equivalent of 2,000 more words:
Help? I don't where else to put this so this seems as good as any. The place where my wife buys costume jewelry bought this as a trade-in from another customer .
He bought it for $175 and sold it to me for the same. Claims this is the approximate value of the gold. Seems about right. The case is in surprisingly excellent condition.
I think this is a re-dial and there's a decent, original 370 dial for sale on eBay for 17 bucks from a dealer in PA.
The costume jewelry guy says he'll swap out the dial and install a new crystal for 25 bucks.
My question is: do you think the current dial is a re-paint or re-finish? I really can't tell and I know some of you are Longines wizards. By some of, I mean ulackfocus (and, others) Thanks.
