Interesting, what is the history on this one?

Rotary has been around for a long time. It was established at La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1895. In the '20s the UK was their biggest market, and they supplied watches to the British army during WWII.

the Aquaplunge diver line is from the '60s, and there were both time only and chronos produced. Radium was used on many of them, including this one ("<25 mc" on the dial).

I bought this one from Romania, where the seller claims to have found it in a local flea market (very possible) in the original box. It is a nice variation, and I quite like the bezel and dial.

I am from the UK and aware of Rotary. However, did not know about that one nice find.

That's a fine-looking watch, and a cool British brand!🥰

I had a Snipe bid that was too low... had I been 'live', I might have bid higher, but I'm glad you got it..

Congrats! Can't wait for the pics 😁

Found it eBay for 12 cents. Good deal. It's called a Sudanese Wise Ass Troll Clock.

What 'ya think?

I'm thinking about bringing it on the Staten Island Ferry later on to show it off. My dad said it was a good idea! Actually, my dad was a 9/11 first responder and died of lung cancer 2 1/2 years later (never smoked a day in his life!!!!) but I know he'd think it's a swell idea as he was quite the cut-up.

...... and you would be able to identify an authentic Wise Ass item as you (and I) are experts in the field! 😜

Congrats! Was watching that one from the start. The dial is really hard to capture in a picture but looks great in real life. Here's my PG capped:

Your Omega is amazing! Can you tell more about it? or direct me to a link? I'm not familiar with this one at all? I love the textured waffle dial.

Yes, save for the fact that my pops really was a 9/11 first responder (NYC Transit Police) and he really dropped dead of cancer right after. We always thought it odd since there's zero history of cancer in our family and I mean zero. Especially since he never smoked.

My kid brother was on that awful pile for 3 weeks after 9/11 but thankfully he's OK.

I have a store receipt from the costume store in the old WTC concourse stamped 8:46am. My wife bought a Spider-Man costume for our 2 year old that morning before she went to work. My office was a block away and I spent the entire morning and half the day looking for her running around downtown like a scared little kid. I also attended 11 different funerals of friends and family over the next 2 months....

Anyway, I don't want crap all over Omega Forums with my personal problems so that's the last I'll ever write about it.

If I was able to make a digital clock it would be in a more conventional woodern box casing to sit on a mantelpiece or table. Why on earth would you have it in case like that, you have got to be asking for trouble.
